Is Brittney Leaving KTVK?

It will be interesting to see how well she fits in. NBC10 is not the laid back AZ Family atmosphere that she is used to. She will not have an older brother Royal or sister April to lean on.

The Chief Meteorologist (nicknamed Hurricane) and one other have been at WCAU since the mid 90's. The other three have been there 10 years, 5 years and 2 months. Of the five on the staff, four have either a major or minor degree in meteorology, the other received her training like Brittney through Mississippi State. Three are AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologists (neither Royal nor April have this certification) and one has the NWA approved seal.

She will have 'real" weather to report on not just how many days since we had rain, how many 110° days or if we will have a haboob tonight.

Well, it was Brittney last day at 3TV. The 3TV team paid tribute to her throughout weekend GMAZ and had a toast at the end of the show. It was nice that Royal and April came in to say "Goodbye".

Phoenix's loss is Philly's gain... :D

I wonder who Brittney's replacement will be???

I watched Sunday's GMAZ and it was nice. Several producers and other 'behind the scenes' people left video goodbyes to Brittney.

It was funny and interesting that they showed the Forecasters graphic and they had already removed Brittney's face. April said she wasn't coming back until next week. Royal even joked that he would be there next Sunday.

So that means that, unless they get in a temp, Kaley O'Kelley will handle mornings and Royal afternoon/evenings. We will have to see who shows up on Saturday morning. Or will Tess and Ryan do it?

Unless Josh shows up in the evening on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day, it looks like Royal will be doing weather every day (including Saturday and Sunday mornings).

Looks like April will be back on the air tomorrow (Jan 07) morning on GMAZ according to her post on Facebook.

(I also heard Royal say that Brittney is in Europe watching her brother play basketball before she completes her move to WCAU - Philadelphia.)

Royal Norman worked both Saturday and Sunday GMAZ shows. While being a TV Meteorologist isn't shoveling coal, I'm sure Royal is tired and needs a few days off.

Perhaps April will pitch in and work one of the weekend am shifts in the coming weeks, so Royal won't have to work 7 days a week.

Josh DeBerge worked the entire weekend, both AM and PM shifts, for the first time. Wondering is this the new normal? Or until KTVK gets a new "full time" weekend weather person?

Maybe so, although Josh does have a full-time job at Make-A-Wish. He's still young, so he can work seven days a week for a couple of months (and hopefully save some money while he's doing it). Hopefully, KTVK will find a replacement for Brittney soon...I miss the live reports on weekend GMAZ.

This weekend, Josh only worked mornings on GMAZ. April worked Saturday evening, while Royal is working tonight. Meanwhile, KTVK has removed its posting for a weekend meteorologist. So, it's likely that they have hired or are close to hiring someone. Perhaps we'll see someone start within the next few weeks.

At the same time, I wonder why it's taking ABC15 so long to find the 4th person for their weather team.
