Is Howie OK?

Maybe I am imagining things but listening to Howie tonight something strange happened. He was struggling doing a Chamonix live read and started to slur his words. It seems like they then cut away to what I think is a rerun of fridays show?

I didn't hear that, but it is a rerun of a show from last week. I hope everything is ok. Did anyone have Howie in the death pool?

No, only the good die young.

Right this minute, he's promoting a contest that requires listeners to be the nth caller to WRKO. If people are calling in to that number, I wonder what staffers are saying.

I heard it, too. Initially, I thought he might have been to the dentist. As it continued, he sounded confused. I hope he's ok.

I heard this happen today (was right around 5pm)

They abruptly cut away to some random music filler for a couple minutes, then ran a wall of ads before coming back.
I expected him to make an 'entercom happens' joke, but instead he prattled on about his new book

He was sounding pretty bad. My first thought was that he sounded drunk. Then I tuned out and when I tuned back in it was a repeat.

My first thought was a stroke, sort of like what happened to anchor Doug Rafferty on WGME-TV in Portland, ME on air a few years ago. The website the Facebook page are still mum as of this writing.

Drunk on the 2 cases Allagash Brewery beer that were brought in today, I bet.

That's exactly what I thought, but right now it seems more serious than that. I even tried calling in to bust his balls about his slurring speech (was going to rib him about the Allagash and drinking a little too much) but no one picked up. I really hope he is okay.

He wasn't right all afternoon, and right before 5 all hell must have been breaking loose because they were not following the clock at all, with a whole list of strange things going on.

It sounded like they did an original first hour (the Don't Ask Don't Tell and DREAM Act votes were mentioned) and I did hear the Chamonix live read. It sounded slowed down--as was said,
slurred words, almost. Then it sounded like the 4 pm hour on was a rerun from last Monday.
I left early for work due to the snow and kept tuning it; still sounded like a rerun, and my thoughts were either health issue for him or maybe something with his family (emergency) etc.

Howie recently had liposuction done...and later took a day off so his wife could also get
liposuction. He has had various issues like the day he crashed near his house, emphesema,
etc.

I'll check out the Facebook page but who knows as of now what happened.

Thanks for the concern about a fellow human being. Just like when Laura Ingraham said she had breast cancer and a bunch of rude comments came out. Just remember as Alan Colmes has said,
"liberals are full of...love"

Get well soon HC

He had a bad case of hic-ups today and I thought he was having a heart attack. He just didn't sound right. He keeps talking about those diet pills he has been on and I wondered if they are causing problems. Didn't he get sick at a restaurant recently and then that auto accident? I think he has a serious medical problem that has not been diagnosed yet. But I'm not a medical person, just guessing. I wondered if later was a rerun and then when Max came on I knew it was the same show I heard last Monday. Whatever is going on, get well soon Howie.

Oh, all the feigned compassion! As an ultra-far-right-wing-conservative talk show host, Howie could have a stroke and STILL do the kind of show he's been doing for years (and submit the same mindless repetitive crap to the Chicopee Herald, that prints it verbatim with no editorial oversight...Joe Sciacca, how can you accept a paycheck from Pat Purcell?).

Howie's very kindhearted when pointing out other people's physical characteristics, especially when it comes to weight. Pot, kettle, black. I don't wish him ill but he writes and hosts his show like the insecure bully he is. I'm not religious or spiritual but maybe there IS something called karma.

In other words Howie can do a show with both arms tied behind his back to make it fair (Rush
used to say something like that) and still do well in ratings. And Howie, who "did not come
here to be made sport of", has mentioned his various physical problems and (gotten free lipo)
tried to poke fun at them whenever possible--though yes he has made fun of others'
appearances though many talk hosts of whatever political stripe to that too. I don't think he's
ultra far right wing; that may be Savage

He is back. Howie said he felt a bit sick at start of show yesterday, took a pill which made him feel even worse, so he went home sick
