In the past 2 seasons, WTIC in Hartford has been choosing to air the Patriots over the Giants, most likely due to their continued success. That said, why were BOTH NY teams scheduled for the same time AND the same network in the first place?
CBS used to have the AFC games and FOX had the NFC.(Out of Conference games went to the road team). If Giants played at New England, FOX would broadcast it.
That system is no longer in place. Games get flexed to different times and networks now. It's all about trying to maximize interest and ratings. Years ago, the Giants and Jets rarely played at the same time. Same thing with Raiders, 49ers. Los Angeles now has two winning teams in the #2 TV market. NFL is pleased with that...
