Is Max McGann going to 94.1?

Private Sector....you couldn't be more right. Spot on. Badaboom. Zing. Tom Collins will sink that station even further. He's a horrible manager, and Gig isn't any better for letting him continue to ruin the Hilton family name.

The funny thing is that TC and Gig both read R-I and they've certainly seen all of the negative opinions, yet Gig still sits on his ass and does absolutely nothing! He deserves to sink. He should have sold that place for a reasonable price when he had the chance.

HAA! Yeah. Right! That's like you getting paid to drive your car. It's paid for, and you can't drive real good...but people keep paying you to put sponsor stickers on it. They only give you a few bucks at a time, but hell, it's paid for! Your gas is free, the repairs are free...the oil is free! You can't drive for shoot, but they keep on payin' you to do it!!! Now, folks keep on tellin' you to sell that there car! You keep on bumpin' it into the curb and hittin' trash cans, but they keep on pumpin a few dollars in there at a time and you're making thousands and thousands hardly keeping it on the road. YOu figure, hell why not keep on drivin' this thang? Folks get mad as hell 'cause you keep on making money driving that car and you won't sell it and you can't even drive it!!! Hmmm. Who's crazy here, now? Welcome to the driver's seat, Max!

thanks for the "Public Service" on this one

I'm gonna put my 2 cents in here. Bear with me, it's complicated. Gig is too suspicious to get rid of TC. He has TC's total loyalty, even if TC is ruining the station in the process. I think Gig trusts him completely and uses him to do his dirty work. Gig hates dealing with the employees, so he has TC do it. The problem comes in that TC is scared to death and paranoid about any competent person who comes in, because they might get his job. SOoooo . . . he sabotages anyone who appears to be competent. He immediately begins to figure out how to kill them off. Sounds crazy, but it's true. To compound the whole thing, Gig thinks he (Gig) is always right and TC has figured out how to make Gig right, so he's always in favor. TC is smart enough to pull the wool over Gig's eyes without him suspecting what he's doing. I swear this is true! Ask anyone who works there or has worked there. Gig will NEVER get ahead until he has a competent GM, but he doesn't trust anyone enough. I imagine the plan is to have his daughter take over at some point, but she's just like Gig and will need her own toadie and then they'll be back to square one. It's all about power and job security.

WELCOME to the "Peyton Place" sanitarium!

::) Lexington Dispatch Business article today announces "Max McGann" is new morning man on MAJIC 94.1

It just goes to show that sometimes it's better not to get what you want. When Leslie left the show, Bob had several "guest" DJ's to try to "win Leslie's job" I actually got to be on the air with Bob for a couple hours one morning. Didn't get to do too much - read a couple traffic reports, etc - and my performance, to borrow a phrase from Deidre (Rock92), "stunk like butt." Obviously, Wendy got the job (probably had it from the outset) and I was relegated back to the non-radio world. Guess it worked out for the best, since I'm still employed.

Don't get me wrong; I enjoyed my brief time on the air and for what it's worth, Bob seems like a good guy. It's just that some were meant to be broadcasters, but I am meant to be a listener. I have spoken.

Based on your assesment of Bob, It was apparently a VERY brief time.

Max does sound good. A far cry better than what's been polluting the airwaves for the past few years in that time slot! Bob was never a good fit for that station. It was "all about Bob" with little interest in the listeners needs.

Hopefully, Max will be able to deal with TC and Gig. Max: just a tip for you. Just play dumb because these two guys don't keep anyone that's smarter than them (and that's just about everyone in the building!).

Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! Truer words were never spoken! Hopefully Max will read this and understand how to survive there. Although, once you're in that building things start coming at you fast and furious. Playing dumb and letting them be brilliant is the best possible way to survive. And that includes Gig, TC, and Stacy. DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT offer any ideas, suggestions, or advice of any kind. DO NOT correct ANYTHING no matter how wrong it might be. Just pretend you don't see it and keep moving. Although it might be against your nature, DO NOT be helpful. It could be perceived that you're trying to take over or take someone's job. DO NOT attempt to make friends in the building, someone will think you're trying to get them on your side and it might be perceived you're trying to take over. Just keep to yourself and get the hell out when your shift is over.
