I've never heard a station "die" and come back to life as much as Cumberland University's "campus" station WFMQ 91.5 FM. This station has been alternating from silent to running country or bluegrass for the past few years (mostly silent), with no jocks, just some old guy with one of two IDs: "This is WFMQ, The Voice of the Bulldogs, Lebanon, Tennessee" or "This is WFMQ, The Voice of the Phoenix, Lebanon, Tennessee". It's practically one month on and three months off.
The first ID obviously refers to the school's athletic mascot, while the second refers to the image on the school's actual logo, and used as an alternate logo on the baseball jerseys.
Should the FCC pull the plug on them for looking like their trying to beat the system, or do they not care because it a non-comm?
