Is wmmr 93.3?

The best rock music station, better than radio104.5 and other rock stations around?

The only difference is one plays alternative and the other plays classic rock!

MMR isn't Classic Rock, in fact, during "The Pit" it is almost entirely new rock music.

WMGK on 102.9, also owned by GM is Classic Rock.

WmYSP, on 94.1-HD3 is also Active Rock once again.

WRFF (Radio 104.5) is Alternative Rock.

My point is that you can't compare MMR to RFF. Sure they both rock, but different flavors.

Completely agree, was just giving him a rundown.

Now if you were to compare MMR to MGM in AC, or RFF to JRR in Orlando, that'd be different. but they'd go on a different board, too.

Sorry bout that. But I only compared the 2 was because 93.7k-rock in Pittsburgh is a rock station and theX@1059 is alternative/rock which radio1045 and wmmr is compared to

No, not quite.

93.7 is KDKA-FM. Format is Sports Talk.
kRock wasn't comparable to The X anyway. One is an alternative, the other is an active rock that doesn't touch what 105.9 does.

MMR and RFF do both play 90's alternative, but comparing them and calling MMR "classic rock" is silly.

Oh really tell that to listeners of theX they compared their music to k-rock why did they huh? That's why I compared these 2!

I'm pretty sure they know kRock has been gone for nearly five years ;)

How can you compare a station that plays modern alternative music to an Active Rock that died four years ago?

This is exactly like you saying "RFF's listeners compare the music on RFF to YSP's 2006 AR format".

They're on two different ends of the rock spectrum.

Whatever I bet they do?

No, although from 2005-2007 YSP had an Alternative Lean due to Y100's flip. I have never heard RFF be compared to YSP. Even less so in it's 2008 AR format. YSP eventually flipped entirely to classic rock, however.

Again, two different ends of the rock spectrum. And with YSP, it's even more far away then MMR is from RFF.

Did u have a myspace account? I seen their comments saying k-rock basically sounds like theX?

I don't even have Facebook, why would I be involved with a social network some five years ago? I have a Linked-In, for business and private reasons.

But, the sole fact you've never even listened to kRock and are basing your facts off Myspace comments, doesn't say too much.

Let's just agree to disagree, we've pretty much wringed this dry.

I listened to theX in 1996 I tried to listen to it cause it didn't come in very well but I listened to it. But when k-rock came on I listened to this station all the time! Loved it cause Krock came in better.

Okay... In that logic, all Class A's are worse then Class B's?

The content of the station is by far more important then the signal.

I loved Krock heck alot better than theX! To me Krock will live forever the music was so much better does theX play trivium, iron maiden and megadeth? TheX gave me heck cause I wanted them to play megadeth it was like a joke and I don't like theX anymore cause of that! Krock was my rock station that I can count On

You seem to be failing to understand the rock stations in Pittsburgh. Essentially, there's two and one rimshot (KVE - Active/Classic Rock)

There's 105.9 WXDX (Alternative) - Compare it to WRFF here, be mindful XDX is more of an Active Rock lean, but both stations playlists have some similarities.

There's 102.5 WDVE, the market leader. It's an active rock, compare it to WMMR. It's almost a perfect fit, they both have very similar playlists.

Then there's KVE, it's like MMR mixed with MGK. There is no comparison to DVE here, it has no relationship with it. On KVE you will hear what you call "Classic Rock" - Megadeth, Metallica, Aerosmith, etc You'll also hear some Linkin Park, Shinedown, Seether, etc. But it has more of a classic lean.

Maybe this is why they thought it was a joke. They don't play this. Would you ask WOGL (or 94.5 in Pittsburgh) to play Katy Perry?
