Is WVKO AM in trouble??

gabigley1---the only reason the "dead horse" is being brought up is because you keep posting on this thread....face it, PROGRESSIVE TALK is dead in C-Bus, WVKO as a liberal talker is dead....end of story. So the next time you hear "Danno" or any of the other so-called "cheerleaders"--why dont you just ignore it and move on to another subject to beat to death....

And sorry Sean, I truly believe 1460 has no interest in Steph or Big Eddie---and yes, I am dismayed as well that no one has pulled the trigger on bringing either one or both back--but I think 1460 is going to ride this "Fan" simulcast as long as possible to cut costs.....

But in case anyone hasn't noticed, conservative talk took a hit in Columbus.

Why do you say that? Total conservative talk share was up. TVN alone is up 1.3 (12+) vs. a year ago. Are you referring to YTS' format flip?

This definitely isn't meant as a defense of the format, I'm just citing numbers. Likewise it is definitely not an attempt to keep this thread lingering, but one quick oberservation didn't justify starting a new one.

And WTDA's numbers, like WVKO's, went up as well from a year ago. So the answer to your question would be yes.

Uh oh, you should have stopped after SIONARA (sic).

ARIVERDERCHE (sic) could be taken as reference to the very "Italian Catholic" background of the guy who is the driving force behind WVKO's new format.

I don't care! WVKO is dead, and obviously no one else who's done format changes in the past few weeks deem the progressive format good enough to pick up. Get a life, move on, and let this thread die!!!!

Fan, the issues you are dealing with now are outside the scope of this thread. Back away from the thread now...slowly. I will do the same.

So does anybody know if St. Gabriel made their numbers to make the purchase?

(Hey, had to do it. ::) )

WTDA Talk FM is now at half a share. I'm guessing the near Talk Radio Network lineup isn't working. Guess the hate rants of Micheal "Wiener" Savage and Mancow are turning people off.

Now WVKO is about to go dark again. Since the current owners are begging for money. The station might go dark in July. Bernard Ohio wouldn't let that happen or they might loose their FCC license.

Now Gary Richards was doing fine running the station and it was in the black at the end of last year. Plus they are getting one full share.

If Conservative Talk doing so great why did CC flipped to Fox Sports on 1230 and WTDA is tanking.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

You really need to wait till the next book to judge this drop in numbers, they have a brand new morning show "Mancow is not widely know in central ohio and will take time to gain listeners. And it looks like Bob and Tom took their listeners with them to 99.7. As far as the rest of the line up, they have done NO advertising to let people know whats on the station. so it will take a while for word of mouth to rebuild with a complete new line up. One word of advice i think they would have better luck if they ran the shows live instead of with at least an hour delay.

I doubt that there is a chance that they are going to loose the station in July but it is a good way to Scare donations out of the congregation. since they signed the lease for WVKO in December or January, i would guess that was for at least a year. I find it hard to believe that they would dump someone who was paying payments for a 6 month lease. it doesn't sound like something a company who is trying to get as much return on investment would do.

Now Gary Richards was doing fine running the station and it was in the black at the end of last year. Plus they are getting one full share.
Just because you have a one share dosnt mean you are making any money, you have to be able to sell ads at a high enough price which in this market is hard to do, also if and i say if Gary was operating in the black, why didnt he sign a new lease? money is money.

If Conservative Talk doing so great why did CC flipped to Fox Sports on 1230 and WTDA is tanking.
im sure it is much easier for CC to just dump Fox Sports which they distribute through Premiere, they can drain a little bit away from the fan. and they really dont have to worry much about scheduling shows into the system, since they are running the network feed almost exactly (with the exception for Dan Patrick which i guess will come in time

Not trying to beat a dead horse here, but Cowtown Communications did sign a new lease. However, before the lease was countersigned and executed, St. Gabriel Radio made an offer to buy the station, and the offer was accepted. We've been over and over this, by the way.

GR i dont think i ever read that you signed a new lease, pretty shady on their part then, if they accepted a signed contract and then turned and gave it to someone else.

Not really. Bernard ended up with the stations when the previous owner went bankrupt. They never intended on running the stations. They've been for sale for 4 years now. They were only doing LMA's until they had a buyer.

I'm guessing you like hate talk radio? NABCO have been slowly dropping in the ratings. Their highest was at 1.7 and now a .5. Micheal Savage didn't do anything with 1230 AM and why do you think it would do anything for WTDA? Then you might blame this on the "brown" skin people, or the Gays, or other minorities that you hate.

WOW how did you get any of that from what i said ? i love talk radio and listen to it every day, and as a gay man i find your comment insulting, but that's not for this forum. All i said is their ratings drop came from them dropping most of their schedule and replacing it with what is basically unknown product for this market. and it takes time, without any promotion for that to build. Just like when WVKO started they didn't get to a 1 share untill a year after they started airing progressive talk. it takes time with out promotion.
