WTDA Talk FM is now at half a share. I'm guessing the near Talk Radio Network lineup isn't working. Guess the hate rants of Micheal "Wiener" Savage and Mancow are turning people off.
You really need to wait till the next book to judge this drop in numbers, they have a brand new morning show "Mancow is not widely know in central ohio and will take time to gain listeners. And it looks like Bob and Tom took their listeners with them to 99.7. As far as the rest of the line up, they have done NO advertising to let people know whats on the station. so it will take a while for word of mouth to rebuild with a complete new line up. One word of advice i think they would have better luck if they ran the shows live instead of with at least an hour delay.
Now WVKO is about to go dark again. Since the current owners are begging for money. The station might go dark in July. Bernard Ohio wouldn't let that happen or they might loose their FCC license.
I doubt that there is a chance that they are going to loose the station in July but it is a good way to Scare donations out of the congregation. since they signed the lease for WVKO in December or January, i would guess that was for at least a year. I find it hard to believe that they would dump someone who was paying payments for a 6 month lease. it doesn't sound like something a company who is trying to get as much return on investment would do.
Now Gary Richards was doing fine running the station and it was in the black at the end of last year. Plus they are getting one full share.
Just because you have a one share dosnt mean you are making any money, you have to be able to sell ads at a high enough price which in this market is hard to do, also if and i say if Gary was operating in the black, why didnt he sign a new lease? money is money.
If Conservative Talk doing so great why did CC flipped to Fox Sports on 1230 and WTDA is tanking.
im sure it is much easier for CC to just dump Fox Sports which they distribute through Premiere, they can drain a little bit away from the fan. and they really dont have to worry much about scheduling shows into the system, since they are running the network feed almost exactly (with the exception for Dan Patrick which i guess will come in time
