ISDN loopback device?

Does anyone know of any kinds of "dumb" plugin ISDN loopback devices?

What I'm hoping for is some kind of relatively inexpensive gadget that I can plug into our ISDN lines at various remote locations. Something that will perform an auto-answer-loopback-reset-wait function so the line can be called and tested for functionality on a regular basis. Something like a plain old Adtran terminal adapter with a loopback adapter plugged into its v34 port - assuming some such arrangement would work.

(tired of suddenly discovering critical ISDN circuits are dead just when we need them most)

(and yes I could do such a thing with a Zephyr, but we don't have enough to go around)

Thanks.

Unfortunately we don't allow these kinds of URLs because of past abuse. While there can be legitimate reasons for their use, these kinds of URLs are often used to link to spam or worse. We regret the need to prohibit them but their use create more problems than they solve. We ask that you bear with us and go ahead and post the longer URL. If you have any questions about this policy or ever have run into a situation like this again, please contact site administration. You can PM me via the site or email me at [email protected]. I'll be glad to answer your questions.

Rob must be stuck in local loopback. Somebody find his UTIL button and press it eight times...

I kid. Would also like to know of what you speak, Rob.

Thx

I believe it was TAS that used to make such a device for central office test lines.

I know and engineer that picked one up on Ebay and has it set up so he can call into it.

I think the Idea of using generic terminal adaptors is a good one. Instead of trying to loop the ports I would identify one that has an internal loopback diagnostic mode.

I no longer have a manual, but I'd look at the Adtran 2x64.

Good luck
