It looks like Boise is about to get "WILD"....

...And if indications are correct according to All Access, look for KMXM to target the Treasure Valley with a Rhythmic format with the new calls KWYD. Stay tuned...

Neither station can run a Rhythmic station. You need a full air staff and money for the Rhythmic format unless you attempt to be a Movin'/Jukebox type station.

...and PLEASE, if you pull off this format, Someone at Impact needs to re-tune the processing on 101.1 to sound like a Rhythmic station.

Secondly, are you going to manipulate the tempo of the music?? Or just rough mix it?

Either way, Good luck.

I'm hearing from people inside the building @ Impact Radio the rhythmic format is just a front. Also hearing that Alternative music is being loaded into their Scott Studio music server.

Good! The X has taken a $h!* lately... Someone's gotta get some good music back in this market!

Let's hope the concept someone in Twin Falls stole (KIRQ-FM/"The Rock Of Idaho") decides to make a stop here in Boise. Real Active Rock radio OR DIE!

The X hasn't got the focus or the proper list to be a properly run Active Rocker. Right now, it's a mix of f*cking garbage. I think The X is on the way out the door with this incarnation of talent and music heading over to re-create a REAL ROCK STATION on J-105. I think Journal might have an itch for FM Talk with the 100.3 frequency in the near future.

As long as "Dan The Man" is around, J-105 will not die.

I heard them testing the signal this afternoon. From what I understand the jocks are in the studio and ready to sign on with an Alternative format within an hour or so.

WHOOO-HOO! Another Rhythmic/Top 40 station! I'm so excited, I think I might find a rusty razor blade to cut my own yambag off!

Jesus [EDIT]Christ! When are these RADIO MORONS going to learn!?? This has to be more retarded than having 2 KIDO's!!

Tremendous. Another radio signal wasted on a Rhythmic/Top 40 garbage.

Secondly, when the music is edited, it's makes me completely love my mp3's a little more. Why do I need to listen to this station when all the music that is edited, I have in electronic form somewhere.

The word "ass" being deleted from a song? Come on.

That's the problem with most Rhythmic stations is you can't run them properly because of a little thing called "community standards". One person hears one questionable line in a song and you got complaints. You've already "dissed" your potential audience and lost all credibility with your listeners because you don't play the music in it's complete form.

When are you morons at Impact going to learn?? Here's to another format you'll pull the plug on in a year, 16 months TOPS!

WOW! They are playing 15,000 songs before any commercials.

Last hour, all three stations, Magic/KISS and Wild IN THE SAME HOUR played "Whatever You Like" by TI.

For Wild, that song played twice in the last two hours.

I am NOT Impressed!

Boise has one of the faster growing Hispanic populations in America. In the 18-34 demographic, it's nearing 20%. BTW, the T.I. song is the biggest in America right now - you probably could've found six stations playing Kid Rock about four weeks ago - so your point is moot.

One gets the feeling that we could see a ripple effect if KZMG and KSAS start ramping up their music selection. This is going to be one interesting race in Boise.

Alright, after some more evaluation, the station needs some work on the processing. The sound has entirely way too much treble. It sounds like there is no tempo manipulation. It reminds me of a station like BOB-FM is put together with the lack of variety of music. I sure hope after the station goes thru this set of 15k songs, they actually have some LIVE jocks on the air. Once again, hopefully, they will have a specialty show on Saturday nights.

I know what's popular and all but that doesn't;t make it good radio. The concept of the music will be implanted with this stunt. It's how the station operates AFTER the stunt is where the real evaluation will begin.

No offence and not to make a racist statement but the Hispanics in Southern Idaho have very little money, especially the 18-34 year old demographic. Hell, everyone 18-34 years old in Boise don't have a dime.

Actually, the promos sound like some of the old promos that used to run on The X when Jacent was running the shop.

Bob has done fine without live jocks - not to say this one won't have jocks. PPM is showing that listeners have less tolerance for jocks than we thought. Giving people great music, content between the songs, and being involved in the community are three big keys to success. The content might be imaging (like Bob) or jocks. Not everyone can target 25-54 ... it just doesn't work that way.
A station that is top 3 18-34 will usually be top 5 or 6 18-49 and that's a big money demo.

DJ Complex...

met him back in the OC.

GREAT kid.

Wild is gonna work.

And now you know who the best club dj is in Boise.

"Real Jocks" only spin in clubs to supplement a lousy income from radio groups that don't pay enough money. The Best Club DJ's in Boise? Come on. Get real. No one in Boise's radio community cares if you draw 25 people in the hours after you get off work and earn that extra 60 bucks a night. Ohhh Free Bar Tab!

The focus should be on the stations music, promos, personalities and imaging. As of right now, this station is a jukebox like Movin' WAS in Seattle. I'll be more impressed if there is a REAL LIVE air staff that knows how to interact with the audience properly.

Don't be disappointed when with inside a 2-year period, you're depending on that extra 60 bucks a night you make in the club to pay your bills after the wonderful management at Impact blows you out the door.

Good Luck.
