Wow, really? And in all caps no less. How pathetic. Feel better now?
YES!

I believe that the practice of successful stations temporarily dropping their format for All Christmas during the holidays, began after 9/11, in an attempt to ease people's minds. It caught on so well that it became a tradition.Stop the Cavelry isn't a KRWM exclusive, heard it on KAFE last night. Speaking of Christmas programming, I continue to be disappointed by the lack of it on other stations. Is it just me, or were there more stations doing special programming on Christmas Eve or day way back when? It seems when I was growing up in the late 1990s, whatever we were listening to had Christmas programming. That being said, my knowledge of the radio dial as a whole was limited at the time. I don't remember if KRWM did all Christmas for a month prior like they do now, but if they did they were the only one, aside from maybe KCMS, which I didn't even know existed until 2003. Everyone else sprinkled in a few here and there until Christmas eve, when you had several more stations jump in with Christmas music, such as KLSY and KBSG. I don't recall what KJR-FM did back then, but do remember hearing at least some Christmas music there. When flipping through last night, only the religious stations were doing anything special, though KIRO-FM usually does something, must have missed it. Wouldn't surprise me if KING did something, but didn't hear it. KOMO began simulcasting KPLZ as I finished my scan.
