Ok help me out here... Regarding the options of programming for one station, how does that work? Is it like 96.55 or something? Also, how does the public know about it once the different channels are available? Are there currently any stations (here or elsewhere) that anyone knows of that is actually doing this? What about advertising and breaks and all that jazz? I assume they are different "stations" under one call letter umbrella? If so, does this violate the number of stations allocation per company per market?

Sorry for all of the questions... but I am curious and am interested how this whole thing would work.

That's a good question. Perhaps CW can give a good techinical answer. I cannot. I only know that you can put several stations on a frequency. However, you can only receive it with an HD radio.

>Also, how does the public know about it once the different channels are available?

They will advertise it on that same frequency or other venues, if it is in the budget.

>Are there currently any stations (here or elsewhere) that anyone knows of that is actually doing this?

It's being done in Chicago on WJMK. A Jack format is on the main frequency. They're running an oldies on the HD.

>What about advertising and breaks and all that jazz?

I assume it could done in many ways. I've heard that sponsorship blocks is one way.

> I assume they are different "stations" under one call letter umbrella?

Yes.

>If so, does this violate the number of stations allocation per company per market?

No.

I am interested, too. It never hurts to ask a question.
