The irony in all this is that 1540 has been signing off at 10pm or thereabouts for a few years now, and tonight is the first time I've heard em on past midnight (getting buried by Toronto & KXEL as usual, a mere 18 miles from the tx site inside the pattern). And judging by the signal strength over the past couple of days, it certainly sounds like they're running the rig at 10kw again.
I sure as hell hope Crawford/DJRA sells 1540 once and for all. I tell ya, they might be a good neighbor in Rochester & Buffalo, but they've done our radio dials few if any favors. Then again, setting up shop with Christian radio in an area with two well established godcasters wasn't the smartest business plan in the first place. Air1 & K-Love were just the final nails in the coffin.
It would've been better in the long run if the car dealer kept WPTR in the fold.... and that's not saying a whole lot. lol
Who knows... maybe Anastos will step up and buy/lease it... would be nice to hear WABY's programming on the big 1540.
