It's confirmed: Depetro is coming back to Rhode Island.

oh my GOD!!!! Sometimes I feel like the world is completely full of idiots- BUDDY WILL NOT WORK WITH DEPETRO-its over- WPRO chose depetro over Buddy. as soon as he finds out what the hell is going on there - any negotiations cease. this is a fact. the short sightedness of the station reflects who is programming the station. People who don't understand the Providence market.......its just so insane. BUDDY at WPRO OVER- maybe paul the genius can get that loser helen glover over for mid-days with her brilliant producer "mountain man AKA "co-host" cause NO ONE calls her show........now that's the only pathetic decision he's capable of making and , would probably think its a GREAT idea because he's such small market thinking.....go for it paul...the world is watching a genius work his magic.

what are you talking about?? not that i think they would be together anyways.... but like i said.... its up the station mgmt. to decide whos gonna do what... if the people involved dont like it... im sure thet will be shown the door... im not a fan of depetro... but i will say wpro is in a great position now..... assuming this is all true.... and like the previous poster said.... buddy is still in prison and IF he is orrered a job he should be grateful someone will hire him.... who knows what is restrictions are gonna be when he gets out though
 
I agree. Plus, Buddy has been in prison for 6 years and he is 70 years old. Not many guys come out looking good after that. He would be the oldest guy on radio next to Paul Harvey. The Boston Globe says he won't get out until Sept. so who knows what could happen.
Besides, money talks with guys like that. Didn't he go to prison over $10 grand? Guys like that will do anything if the price is right regardless of who else is working there. He is running the prison kitchen, not a radio station.

DePetro's a re-tread. It's boring!
 
I'm with Holland on this one. At least something interesting is happening at the moment. This is more than just a Depetro re-tread. Something is about to go down.
 
Seems the ultra-right is gearing up for the '08 campaign...let's see who can out-extreme-right the other on talk radio.

Kinda makes one think that that suits believe that controlling the airwaves spin is somehow going to score points with the voters. If talk radio, and especially ultra-right-wing talk radio, is your sole source of news, then you shouldn't be allowed to vote.

Considering who this bbs was aflame with confirmed reports of DePetro being hired by the moribund WHJJ a month ago, I think I'll wait to see what actually happens. On thing seems certain, though...The Mountain Man-Helen Glover show is doomed. It's only a matter of time now. You can't do poorly against the walking dead (Rush) and expect to stay on the air.

I'll never fully understand why Rush became a success in the first place. I think in a similar way to Yorke, Rush just always won by default. He has no competition. He's just another pompus blowhard. I can take him in small doses, but after 10 minutes I have to switch the station.
 
Don't know what you dudes are even talking about. My point's this- DePetro's really, really unstable these days. Everybody knows that. What will PRO do when he flips out on somebody?
 
i just looked at JD's ???site. Was that cartoon always there? If not, it says "DePetro is moving to Boston." Or, is it an old cartoon regarding his first move to Boston?
 
That may be an old cartoon about DePetro, or who knows, maybe he is moving to Boston radio,
though Barber had heard DePetro was replacing him. Tuned into WPRO right now and Matt Allen
was on; "I'll be here for the rest of the week"
 
It's probably an old cartoon. I think Boston is done with him. Depetro is back in Providence now. If WPRO is teling the truth Depretro will be taking over Barber's slot on WPRO. Some here disagree about this move. However I like Depetro. The guy has guts. That makes for good radio.
 
Trustno1 , you haven't said what you think of WPRO and it's future with Depetro. Is it a good move?
Also, Mat Allen, seems to be the next in line with a bright future there I just wish he was more senistive to the Minority communities. comments? You've said nothing on him.
 
look- matt is a talent for sure, but needs to be worked with. he'll never get a shot at WPRO and you dont have to be a scientist to figure that out...he had a shot and they replaced him with dave barber. He's got to get out of dodge to truely get the things he deserves. It will never happen at that hell hole WPRO....that has been proven to him and the people who care about him. im not one of those people im being objective. Matt could make it, but he's got to want to make it. Point being , he's got to take a risk- its not in him- not yet. which is sad.
 
They keep Matt around because he's always there for them. He's the go to guy when they need a fill in host. Plus he's a good host anyway. So WPRO would be dumb to let him go. Matt knows his way around that station and he does whatever they ask him to do.

Yes Matt can do better. He deserves a full time gig. But he probably looks at what happens to people like Barber and gets scared. He doesn't want to be that Victim that people come here and talk about.
 
skynet , cmon- you're a smart guy. someone like matt is played and played and played until the guy goes postal. he's got a decision to make , and if i were a crime scence investigator , which im not , i'd say matt is at a crossroads.......matt , while many like him , is a wimp-he can't branch out on his own because he'll not be defined....everyone thinks so much of this guy , but clearly , he thinks NOTHING of himself which is why he's still working for nothing at a station that uses him when no one else is around......let's call a spade a spade.....
