It's That Time of the Year Again

When will Sunny 104.5 go all-Christmas?
Will B101 go all-Christmas soon?

I can dream.
I miss it, and I am glad that I recorded 24 hours worth of Sunny 104.5 Christmas airchecks. It won't be the same though.

It probably wouldn't be same if 106.1 flipped to all-Christmas this year, either...

When does XM start the Christmas music, I remember last year one channel started early but I forgot the exact date and by middle of November there were 5 or so, Country Christmas, Standard Christmas, Traditional Christmas like Sunny but not as good, and a few others. Music Choice starts a week before Thanksgiving on Comcast 401 and one more is added in December, not too good though.

Look for Holiday Music Stunting next weekend. All holiday decorations in local malls will be up this weekend!! There is no longer any break between Halloween & Christmas. One station will make the full time flip November 12th!

B 101 claims to be asking listeners to vote on when they begin playing Christmas music. I was seriously tempted to pick "never" from the list of options, but instead picked a mid-December date. I can't stand the non-stop ho-ho-ho stuff weeks before Thanksgiving. I know it sells, and they need to do what they need to do, but since they asked, I registered my vote. I doubt it counts, any more than the music poll they're running for holiday tunes. I gave every darned Carpenters song the lowest score possible--please let us be spared too much of that pain. ;D

I pick now !!!and pick out all the older songs.nothing like Christmas music from the 50's and 60's to make you feel all warm and cozy inside.

With all due respect, how come every time this topic comes up, you say the exact same things? By your own admissions, you know it makes money, you know most people love it, and you know you'll never get your way. And I'm sure you also know that we all already know how you feel. So give it a rest already, will ya? The negativity is tiresome.

I hope they listen to you. This is where I miss Sunny the most. Sunny played the classic (and mor epopular) versions of music, while B always plays newer released junk and newer versions of classic songs song by todays top pop stars.

I am glad this is about Christmas music. Isn't this also the time of year when stations let people go? I just heard about a bunch of firings in NJ.

they are saying on b101.1 the x-mas music begins sometime this month

now they are just asking for someone to beat them to it

The question is..... WHO?????

WOGL: Forget it, they'll welcome displaced BEB listeners
WBEN: Same, too much forward progress, Great Media finally has a winner @ 95.7
WISX: Possibly, I'm sure CC misses that "Sunny Christmas" money. Besides, My isn't Philly's, last I could tell.
WYSP: DARK HORSE ALERT! With Cook's AC chops, coupled with a seemingly ATTEMPT at tanking YSP's ratings, flip to Christmas, re-emerge after the holidays with 94.1 as the next challenger to 101.1 for the AC crown. (Again, one man's opinion).

Stations not mentioned don't have a snowball's chance in H-E-double hockey sticks...IMO, of course!

No chance in hell at 94.1 flipping again they are rocking again and stayin rock till at least 2009 bank on it .

Ya sure? Between a reinvigorated MMR and plus the new kid in RFF, YSP right now would be odd man out, no?

They said this last year, and as also pointed out last year I think its b101's way of letting other stations know that they can flip on a moments notice, so don't try to beat us.

A few years back, B101 was the first station to flip and Sunny flipped just 3 hours later.
I hope the "Sunny" Christmas sound returns to 106.1. It sure can grab a lot of its target demographic with 2 months of Jingle Bells.
