It's the Zackster on Monday morning!

I give up. I tried listening again this morning and he just can't capture my atention at all. I know Zack is new, but when I take on a new assignment I do as much research as I can to prep for it. I don't think he's done any of this and just has a list of Atlanta landmarks to try sounding local.

This weekend I heard Renay, Andy, and Orf - all of who have voices better suited for a morning show. Too bad they didn't develop a show around Orf, instead we get the Professor Farnsworth Show. Goodbye music mornings, hello TRG.

Yeah, it really is brutal and he even admits it on his website. But, again, you really can't blame him. He was a mediocre afternoon jock with no real morning chops before taking the gig and he's surely doing the best to his ability. Again, blame for this debacle rests squarely on the shoulders of PD Mike Wheeler who had opportunities to field a decent show with proven local talent but figured it best to roll the dice on a guy with no market experience or morning show skills.

To be fair, Wheeler probably had a mandate to spend very little, and hire someone "safe." Had he the money, I'm sure he would've gone for Jimmy Baron who's still "safe."

Possibly, although I'd imagine that Jimmy's price has come down considerably having been off the air for almost two years now. Speaking of which, I have to believe Larry and Eric's deal with Cumulus is horrible. The Dickey's are known low-ballers (with Bert being the exception), especially knowing that neither of the RG's could get arrested for the past 15 months. Anyone want to speculate?

I am sure they took a big hit. How couldn't they. Over the last several years they have been off the air more than on the air but they practically built the station around them so you know that they have to be getting a decent wage. I am sure they have some strong bonuses built-in for performance.

One sure sign is Larry and Eric doing spots. That never happened during 1.0. I remember during 2.0 I think Eric did a Krystal and Subaru ad.
