J.D. Ryan

I saw him say on Facebook to someone that he is still working for CBS. Just wondered if anyone knew what he was still doing there? Good guy. Just hope he's being taken care of.

No. I remember reading somehere that they had a falling out after "Live 105-3" went away.

The story by Richie Whitt in the Observer probably.

JD used to post all this crazy Christian anti drinking garbage on his Facebook so I just deleted him. The biggest bore in radio is JD.

He still posts the stuff. Every. Day.
I'm about ready to delete him too.

Fixed that for you.

Thanks Nik. Agreed. Whether you're Christian or not, please do no knock someone finding peace in their life. JD was- according to those closest to him- terrorized by Russ Martin. Alot of people were. JD has earned that paycheck for dealing with (on AND off the air) what some of us could only imagine. Feel sorry for him? No. Respect him? Yes.

It's kinda hard to respect someone who allows it to happen. This isn't like an abusive boyfriend, this was a retarded employee who didn't have the gonads to quit.

Well, you've outdone yourself now. Someone with an abusive boyfriend can't leave?? That comment was just dumb.

And almost anyone of us- ANYONE OF US- would have put up with with Russ' antics for the hefty paycheck.

I strongly disagree with that assessment. I've seen it happen too many times, and in fact I've witnessed one case of it just recently. My sister-in-law, who has done volunteer work with a woman's shelter for many years could explain it, or you can click here: www.genesisshelter.org/Page.aspx?pid=327

I don't know about that, but I probably put up with too many psychotic bosses in my career for way too long and each time I left it was like getting out of prison. I'm guessing that J.D. Ryan might have had similar thoughts.

First off, thanks for the link to Genesis- good place doing good work. But the point is that anyone is physically capable of leaving a situation they don't want to be in...the psychology of why some folks don't is a whole 'nother issue.

And I'm thinking your analogy of (our!) psychotic bosses is probably right on. You don't really realize how bad your situation is until you're in a healthier environment.

What do you mean it's dumb to say that? Go read the news and you'll hear tons of stories about men abusing their wives/girlfriends/whatever and they end up having a history of violent behavior. These girls are too scared to leave, it's a psychological thing. So if we want to compare JD to a woman who won't leave their abusive significant other than that's fine with me!

Obviously that paycheck doesn't matter to JD so your point is moot.

Let me make this clear: ABUSE IS ABUSE and no one should have to put up with it. But YOU were the one that began the comparison. I don't think you read my post clearly before you fired this one off.

And your point on the paycheck thing is odd...JD is still getting his paycheck just as Russ is. So yes, the paycheck was/is important to him. He's the one that sees the writing on the wall and is putting that money to good use...starting a new business for himself. All the while, Russ is willing to take a beyond gigantic pay cut and go back to mornings just to be able to exercize his freedom to terrorize...err, ABUSE, the very people that helped him achieve his success.

I DO apologize for calling your comment dumb. I feel you were commenting simply to comment on a subject you aren't personally familiar with. Either way, it wasn't very nice of me to knock your opinion with such an rude statement.

Did anyone catch JD on the Eagle last Saturday? Wow, what irony...

What Saturday and about what time? I didn't catch it, but will go back on media monitors to check it out.
