Don't know if you knew, but Stern WAS here from 1997-2000. Basically he asked for more money to renew than Citadel was willing to pay. From what I heard, his numbers were okay, but not enough to justify what he wanted to stay in the market.

Again, they also were here. O & A right up to the infamous sex in church scandal. I thought Citadel's FM talk station was a good idea...I think given the chance it would have worked, but it was the company that chose not to support it, not the market.

Good luck. I am friends with several of the people who've tried to do "Local Talk." They tell me it's the same five people who call every day and complain about the same things. As far as these people are concerned there is nothing more compelling than politics as usual in their little towns. Just listen to WILK between 6am & Noon.

There are people out there who I believe can do it---most of us have left radio out of frustration. Maybe VanDerHeyden can get some of us back in.
