Note: This is far better programmed than Nine. It's more 80s and uptempo based. It's segues aren't as mind numbing. Staying UPTEMPO is very important for this format at it's launch. That's my belief. Very little AOR cuts, very little lost, out of place rock tracks for stoners (so far) make it more interesting than NINE.
A 2.0 to 2.5 is always possible. It's more together (music wise) than Nine was but what they bill? We'll see if it tops Oldies. As THEY say, it's all about the BOTTOM LINE. I seem to remember Clear Channel saying that about Jammin' Oldies, when you look at their bottom line, they're still not doing what The Beat did five years ago so, so much for that line of bull. They'll say anything to cover their ineptness in radio won't they?
What's really sad is that most of these songs they're playing should've ALWAYS been played on radio. Prince, Tone Loc, Blue Brothers etc could all fit into formats that exist now, they've just been dumped out in exchange for the same 70 songs in rotation. Radio's formats have gotten so stringent that there's no room for fun in most of them because they're too paranoid. Such a shame that the pendulum has swung this far off the clock.
