Jack Off,Part Two: Die, Die,My darling

WRONG..
WRONG WRONG WRONG!
Not in 15 months, but now.
This ain't no disco,
this ain't no country club either,
this is New York City, Jack!
This is the city that never sleeps.

On any other day, I would agree with David Eduardo 100.5 %.
But this is not any other day. This is not some smaller market.
New York is a make it, or break it place! I do not think Jack gets the extra time here. I don't believe that CBS Inc will wait very long on this one, too much at stake here.

I'm sorry David, I just disagree with you. I don't know what they can do with 101.1, but "Jack," is not the answer.

Jack's 15 minutes were up 2 minutes ago.
IMHO.

Adult formats tend to take quite a while to work, precisely because in the big markets the competiton is strong and entrenched. It takes a while to overcome loyalty considerations.

> New York is a make it, or break it place!

This is not Z-100. A worst to first does not happen often, espcially with fomats that are not current based.

They have a real commitment to it. It takes time, that is all.

It seems some people on this board are impatient and won't give the new stations any TIME. TIME TIME TIME

OK, I'm 45. In 1979, the Beatles had been gone almost ten years. Sinatra had two great albums still to come, and a weekly 3-hour program on WYNY; showings of his films at the Metro would be packed with people my age. WNEW-AM had *yet to become* a standards station; it was then leaning on Eddie Rabbit, Spyro Gyra and Dionne Warwick except on Jonathan Schwartz's weekend programs. A Sinatra-based commercial format was about to have an 18-year AM run in New York. Take another look at the timeline. Sinatra has helped multiple generations of clumsy dorks and young lovers create meaning out of passion, connection, fulfillment, disappointment or hopelessness.

Knowing Infinity's penchant for press releasing every aspect of their operations, don't you think that if sales were through the roof it would have leaked out by now?
