opinions ?

In your opinion name one or two on air people from jacksonville major player radio stations you consider to be top notch radio legends from the last 25 years to the present day.
 
Radio legends from Jax? The list is not complete without Hoyle Dempsey. Miss ya pal ... and thanks for all you did for radio and the legend of The Big Ape (may she rest in peace).
 
Didn't Cat Thomas keep the legend of WAPE in all of its glory?
 
Bill Belichek (sp?) was a sub .500 coach at Cleveland. With Tom Brady he's won how many Super Bowls? Coaches need talent to win, and it's often one catalyst that sparks a team. Hoyle made the transition from Greaseman's brother-in-law, to a solo act, to partner with Marge Fizzy, and on to The Zoo. He was a winner in whatever role he was asked to play, and that's the mark of a champion.
Cat was a great coach, but Dempsey was on the field calling the signals and executing Cat's plays.

Yeah Holye & Greaseman definitely in the legends category.....did there own thing and did it well.....Pat Garrett & Patti have the legend 'credentials' being former major market folks..but dont think Patti was around Jax long enough, even though I loved listening to and working with her......
How does longevity factor in ??.Arthur Crofton been around forever? does he qualify?? or does that matter??...just thoughts.....
 
I always thought one of the slickest morning shows aside from Nino Greasemaniele and Hoyle was Rock 105's Chris (Jones) and JD. Very professional. Yep Arthur Crofton would qualify.
Obviously Arthur has the staying power. 96.1 had a great winter rating. Robbie Rose and Boomer should be in there too. Pat Garrett, Smokin Joe Beamer both have to be included
 
Wow I forgot about Chris and JD! Yep Aruther Crofton would be in there. Hoyle yes, Fizz, not so much.. NO to Lex and Terry..
 
Robbie Rose definitley a good addition...original 'eye in the sky' traffic reporter!!
 
How can we forget Trane, Steve, Eden, and Amadeus, and Boomer... cant member if someone talked of the Arf too. :)
 
Trane for sure. The former APE Zoo members ? Only Hoyle is a legend. The other 3 were just tag alongs.
 
Tag alongs, huh? 12+ years at the APE, and now off to a better than expected start at Gator in a totally different format. Pretty good for tag alongs.
 
One day they, Eden, so and so, and so and so, might be but not now.. Tony Man ok I'll go with that..David Lamb was/is has been around for a long time.. yea it's sports, I'm just sayin. I'm not going back 10 years.. I'm thinking 20 :)
 
i have to agree with david lamb david knows his stuff Also that's a 10/4 on tony man bye the way bear yea i say tag alongs i figure if you haven't been fired 3 times or been on the radio atleast 20 years you haven't paid your dues and don't qualify as a legend period
