Jammin' 103.1 Debuts in Austin

Commercials are now airing. Heard some around lunchtime today.

Me too right after Sade's Smooth Operator close to the 7 pm hour, followed by traffic.

Well, hopefully they will move to 98.1

Heard Just another Day by Jon Secada Friday around 9 on Braker and Mopac on 103.1 haven't heard that song since 1992 in English and 1993 in Spanish on now defunct La Romatica FM 93 out in San Antonio.

I have been listening to this station and it sounds good. Reminds me of 93.9 MIA in Miami.

It would be nice if Jammin' 103.1 moved to analog on 98.1 FM. Only time will tell.

I tested the signal, and I can't get it as far south as Kyle and as far north as IKEA (FM 1431) in Round Rock.

I couldn't hear the station at all this morning in Jollyville.

I could as my Panasonic Walkman has a DX/Local switch on the side of it, the headphone wires being the antenna. Funny thing when I tune in on Burnet Rd and Koenig I have to switch it to Local to get the signal, always comes in good on 38th and Lamar by Seton.

Has CC updated the playlist? Cause the aircheck that jras provided and the time I drove thru Austin, Jammin sounded a bit different from MIA.

I heard nothing but static in Jollyville again this morning. Coming down 360 south of 183 in NW Austin, it gets better.

That is where I can pick it up, Jollyville and Braker, but the power lines on Braker cause it to fade somewhat.

I pick it up better at the bus stop on Burnet and Koenig by the HEB parking lot. Get your MP3 Recorders hooked up to a Walkman via 3.5 cable make your airchecks, and tell the Capital Metro driver about the new station LOL 8)

Its been almost a good month since Jammin 103.1 debut in Austin, and I think it sounds good. It, and Bob FM, are the two local stations I listen to regularly. Jammin sounds alot like a mix from both Eva 95.5 in Phoenix, and 93.9 MIA in Miami, both of which are Clear Channel Owned also (I listen to both stations on iheartradio)

Good job on this one guys!

Eva ranks 18th and MIA ranks 13th in the latest PPMs and both are trending downward. What can the local Jammin' hope to do with its translator-size signal?

On Saturday around noon, I heard a certain mix of Dee Lites Grooves in the Heart I haven't heard since November of 1990 on now defunct Q96 San Antonio. Followed by Santana's Oye Como Va (at first I thought they would spin 2 Live Crew's Mamalampenga. :D another song played right after that on Q96 back then right after that song.)

I absolutely do. But show me an 18th ranked station that does well in sellable demos.

Not sure how well WMIA is performing in the recent PPM but a little over year ago they were on the rise.

P18-34 #7
P25-54 #9t

Here's a quote from All Access for the same period-
CLEAR CHANNEL Hot AC WMIA (93.9 MIA) added another strong month making the station an upward-trender and biggest gainer in more than one demo
