Jeff Asch (KYW) retiring

Station just did a tribute to him retiring so this must be his last day. Good luck in retirement Jeff. KYW has had a number of long time anchors retire in the past 2 years. Are they offering inducements to retire or is it just a coincidence?

Sometimes to cut the payroll, a broadcasting company will offer incentives to get older workers to retire. But these days, things are looking up for radio companies like Audacy. I don't think the company is doing that.

A station like KYW has a large staff. Anchors, reporters and producers are on the payroll, working around the clock, seven days a week. And an All-News station is more likely to have people nearing retirement age than a Top 40 or Urban station. There's bound to be more retirements announced on KYW than most other formats.

Maybe a little, but Audacy still lost money last year so it wouldn't be unreasonable to be offering buyouts.

I may be misremembering but I thought I read that Audacy actually was incentivizing retirements at KYW (and elsewhere).
