A big loss. Especially with his countdown shows.

Will Famous amos replace Jeff?

"Brooklyn's Own" Joe Causi will be the replacement on Monday-Thursday early mornings from Midnight-6AM. Link to his bio on www.wcbsfm.com website is below:

I don't think his Saturday slot was ever listed. And Pat St. John said today that Bill would be back tomorrow morning.

We've got Jeff doing the Top 20 countdown 11/1983 tonight. Unless this was pre-taped, he's on live tonight!

Well, if he didn't take the time to say Goodbye and Thanks to his listeners (which NEVER happens now-a-days) then its safe to say it was indeed "in the can" via voice-tracking. One can dream, but closure would tend to soften a blow especially for someone who (from what I have read) has gone above and beyond for many years. CBS Radio is NO different from CC, Cox, Greater Media, Emmis, or any of the other big guys when it comes to the "liability" issue of fast and swift terminations... These are professionals and while I think the odds of these folks putting their reputations on the line for a few seconds of self-gratification are slim, I guess the slight risk will always be there.

One more person headed for the Unemployment line... :-\

This could possibly be the last Top 20 Countdown until after they go all-Christmas... which could mean they could flip the holiday hits switch sometime this week!

CBS-FM has a pre-recorded promo on the air today, voiced by Jeff, saying that if you missed his countdown last night you can listen to it online.

With the dreaded Christmas change coming next week, there probably won't be any countdowns until January. We'll have to wait until then to see if Jeff is doing them, somebody else is, or nobody is.

So apparently somebody went through the effort to take Jeff's picture off the Top 20 page, but they left his name there at the top.

At least leave the poor guy's picture up while you have his show on your website!

I heard Broadway Bill Lee promote Jeff Mazzei's Sunday Nite Countdown this afternoon. He'll be doing a Holiday Countdown this week. No doubt, he recorded it before he was let go.

I just heard Joe Causi do a promo on tonight's 50's Christmas songs countdown, and he specifically said Jeff's name.

Mistake by copy writer?

Jeff's dimissal really stinks. I enjoyed his shows, especially his countdowns.
