Unreal! Brien is late again for the Tuesday morning show and Dan is filling in until she gets there. They have to fire her and do it soon. She is the most unprofessional host ever. 7 days missed so far and now 2 shows for which she has shown up late. Wake up, Peter Casey. Get a clue.
And, Dan just announced that Morgan will be in soon to fill in for Jen tonight. You have got to be kidding me. She is so unprepared for this job it is incredible. This kind of stuff doesn't even happen at the smallest, most rinky-dink stations. You absolutely cannot make this stuff up. If Brien is not gone soon, Casey should be fired.

It will be "The Late Jen Brien"!!!! GONE. Hope she can really deal with her emotional problems ...off the radio. Wish her well in whatever she does after WBZ ...after tonight.
Wow, that's pretty harsh. You obviously know something about why she's not there that we don't. Can you tell us what it is, or are your sources sworn to secrecy?

He suggested nothing of the sort. He is right however, this is incredibly unprofessional. Making Dan Rea stay an hour after his shift and making Morgan come in with very little notice...not coming in for an entire week mere months after getting the job with little explanation, and clear ON AIR tension with coworkers? You have no argument against these facts. Her attitude is incredibly unprofessional, never mind her on air choice of subjects (urine, manure, drug use, etc). This is not some rinky dink station in some nowhere flyover state. This is a 50,000 watt clear channel with a legacy of great local late night talk. I understand if you did not like Steve Leveille - he was not for everyone, but he was far better than this. She is a disaster, and you are doing nothing but trolling by suggesting otherwise.

At any rate, I can't see her leaving permanently without kicking & screaming all the way. Even when they let Steve go several years ago, he didn't try to fight for his job back. What class. We didn't realize what we had back then. Mr. Steve LeVeille, you are sorely missed.
Now we have UH-HUM & NOPE, constant throat clearing, urine, feces, drug use, disrespect for co-workers, family & neighbors, etc.

Jen Brein To Take A Leave of Absense At WBZ Radio ?
After overnight talker, Jen Brein, was a no show for the seventh or eighth time can a leave of absense at least be far behind ?
It appears Brein needs to take some time to address her emotional problems which she cannot do on air.
On air therapy is obviously not working.
Wish her well and better health in her future employment outside of WBZ Radio.

So, the woman has been on the job a little more than three months. She just recently took a week off without any notice to her listeners and it was clear that the fill-in hosts were not given much advance notice. She then returns for one show, and starts by telling us it is none of our business why she was off for a week (and she is right about that). The next show she is a no-show again and clearly there was no notice. Dan Rea was forced to stay an extra hour and then Morgan took over at 1 a.m. The one telling comment from Morgan, "don't ask me anything, because I know as much as you do," referring to Jen's absence. So, a little more than 3 months and we have 8 absences, several without advance notice, and one late appearance. Sounds like a keeper to me. If I was Peter Casey, I would be giving her a raise and promotion.
Oh my, sounds like she needs a trip to the principals office.
This morning she posted on Facebook about how last night's absence was due to a misunderstanding and it was her fault. I just looked again and the post is gone.
So I guess you would be an awesome boss. Just let your employees take off any time they want, notice or no notice. That would be an incredibly successful business, I am sure. Do you understand that this is a 50,000 watt radio station that has an overnight host who has no idea whether or not she is supposed to be at work or not, and who posts on social media that she was not on the air last night because of a misunderstanding? This isn't a cashier's job at 7-11, it's an overnight host job on a 50,000 watt station heard in 3/4 of the country. The woman was out a week, came back for one show, and was MIA again the next show. She has missed 8 shows in 3 months. Why is this allowed? Even if she was the most talented host in the world, this type of attendance record should not and would not be tolerated. Keep up your insightful comments.
Cap-n Spackle -- Hmmm, think someone might have told her to take that Facebook post down. I am blocked from her Facebook page, so do not get to enjoy the fun. How in the world do you have a misunderstanding about whether or not you need to show up for work? This stuff is hysterical and Peter Casey looks worse by the day. Even her sad lot of devoted fans has to wonder what is going on with her. What a mess.

I don't try to be insiteful. Thank you for the lecture about the differences between a talk show host and a cashier. I'll bet my blood pressure is lower than yours. This is just a fun place to come and see what the kids are saying.
I am addicted to talk radio and have been a listener for many years, and I do go back to the Larry Glick era I now am a caretaker of two adults that have me up and down at night. So I have BZ on all night, as I care take and doze. I found JB's entrance a surprise and found my first impression of her to be that she was a bit abrasive. But spoke with a friend/fellow listener who said give her a chance. I listened every night and thought that she did not have a grasp of the audience she had been handed. I know that every talk host has their lulls in callers, but I have heard many nights, that her monologue was seemingly endless. Is she so self important that she wants the show to be only about her trials and tribulations, or are the listeners as bored as I am with her diatribes? I too, am getting tired of hearing the umm's, mmmmm's, ahhh-ha's and nopes. I LOVE Dan Rae and Morgan White, both are interesting and have varied and vast areas of knowledge. I personally do not mind the absences and hope there are more, but I do think it is unfair to those that are required to cover for her with no advanced warning.

Unless you are the person she reports to, you have no idea what you're talking about. For all you, or anyone else, knows, her absences could have been cleared with Peter Casey in advance. If you actually do know something about it, we're waiting for your explanation of what you know and how you know it. It's way past time to put up or shut up.
And for those of you who think she owes her audience an explanation: She doesn't work for the audience. They don't pay her. She owes them nothing. The only person to whom she owes ANY notice or explanation at all is her employer. That's how companies actually work.
The comments from the haters here who still listen are getting almost comical. Hint: She's just not worth it. If you don't want her on the air, STOP LISTENING!!!! Did it ever occur to you that PC might infer from this thread (if he even reads it) that "they say they hate her, but they keep listening, so we'll keep her on?" Hosts with an audience tend to keep their jobs. Hosts with no audience don't. What part of this is so difficult for some of you to understand?

I tune in after Dan Rea for the traffic and news, and to see if she's on, if she is, off to the Sports Hub for the night.
