Another thread, not sure about info, says she was fired this afternoon and a link to sched page shows "Overnight Talk" in her place. If so would expect them to do local fill ins like Morgan, Brad J, Jordan, or Feinburg unless they'd prefer to pick up Overnight Amer again

Morgan is on tonight and he said he will be reading a statement from the station at the beginning of his show. The big question is, what kind of heat will Peter Casey take for this horrible decision? Clearly Ms. Brien has been relieved of her duties. Hmmmm. I guess there was some merit in all of these threads that were started about Jen Brien and BZ overnights.
Rea said Morgan will be on and in their brief crossover, Morgan said, "I will be reading something from the station".

Yes the phrase used was they have reconsidered their programming, she will not be on any more etc Morgan said any calls on this will have to wait after 1 am. @bostonradip tweets she had the gig for 90 days
So we get Mr. Excitement for the rest of the week.
I like Morgan's live trivia shows and the type of show he did in the old days at WMRE etc..maybe they don't want someone hyper in that slot..more relaxing for overnight though I know what you meam
I used to listen to Jen when she was on 'RKO 'tween 1 & 3 PM; thought she was quite good. Disappointed when she got dropped abruptly near end of June 2012, apparently to make room for the returning Michele McPhee, who in turn later got displaced herself to make room for Rush. FWIW, Jen's attendance was VERY good at 'RKO in comparison to what's been recorded for her lately in these forums. As someone said, I just hope she's not seriously ill.
Todd Feinburg has filled in for Dan Rea several times. A lot of folks seem to like him, so this shift could go to him.

It was announced tonight at 12:05 a.m. that WBZ has decided to go in a different direction and that Jen Brien will no longer be on the air.
Yes, I was listening and immediately came here to watch the posts come in.
But was she fired or did she resign? That was essentially my question.

She was never qualified to be on WBZ radio in the first place and if the PD, Peter Casey, did not hear or see that he should be out the door with that woman, I'll think of her name some time.
It appears WBZ Radio wanted to make a Right Turn in its overnight political direction. Well, it did make a Right Turn right into a wall of listeners who knew much better than the alleged professionals that she was both unfit and unqualified to be on any legitimate radio station.
The question now should be: who will replace Peter Casey as Program Director for WBZ Radio?

Morgan confirmed in the statement he read - she's gone. We all must thank Peter Casey for making the decision. (Finally) Morgan mentioned that he will be open to discussion about it after the guest(s) are gone. Hopefully they will go through a more stringent tryout process this time around.
Out of the handful of hosts they ran by us, I'm personally not a huge fan of any of them. Morgan does come the closest to a good replacement in my book, however. The issue with him is he already has a full plate with his other gig & I'm not sure he could fulfill the duties of both jobs on a regular basis.
We'll see...this may well be the beginning of syndication.
