What I don't get is why that 4 eyed dork ended up betting an even 2600 when he knew the most the others could win was 16,000. Seems to me he should have wagered 2,601 to end up beating them by a dollar.
Insults to the contestant aside, he wagered enough to make a return trip if he was right, which is all that really matters. Either bet would have made sense.
It could be seen as smart strategy - he had an easy win, but if he ties:
a. all three contestants get BIG BUCKS instead of two getting consolation money. No skin off his nose.
b. he gets to play again against two people he knows he can beat.
The ones who should be honked are the two contestants who would have been on the next show.
They're not honked. They shoot 10 shows in a row, five on Monday and five on Tuesday. Any contestant who would be bumped from the fifth show on Tuesday for any reason gets put up until the next taping day.
On today's episode Alex explained that an audience member asked if there had ever been a three-way tie, and the dork overheard the question, then made his wager. Seems to me a little convenient that he didn't bet the extra $1 . . .
Shades of Charles Van Doren or DOTTO . . .
