Jim Braude slams WRKO

Wait a minute. Who is "we?" Are you acting on behalf of one of the stations?
'We' is the folks who post on this board, and others who are interested in what's going on in radio these days. No, I'm not acting on behalf of one of the stations - I'm afraid it's just me.

And here I thought our honest exchange about 'two chicks' last week was full of integrity. By the way, I went and looked at your posts. One week you said you couldn't take Mariellen's voice and the next week you were raving about her and the other Ellen. Then again, why is no one commenting on TKK weekends speaking of voices no one can stand? I'm worried everyone here has a personal agenda.
You are right, I did criticize her voice, and while I am a bit of a 'quality of voice snob' I started paying more attention to all the voices out there (I think after one of your posts). Yes, I only want to listen to beautiful voices with modulated tones, but I had enjoyed the part of their show I heard - not so much the voices, but the content. So, can't have everything. Others have said that they talked over each other too much so it was confusing to listen to - between the similar names, similar-sounding voices, talking on top of each. However, I still said I enjoyed it, and I did (so there, yoyo. I didn't say it was perfect...).

On a more serious note, Boston doesn't want to listen to Marjorie. It's has-been radio, sorry to say. I left and came back and it was like being in a time warp. She was back on the air. They will have to look for new talent to partner with Finneran but someone with Marjorie's name brand. I'm not sure how you do that. think RKO might have to change and bring new listeners with them instead of catering to the loyal listeners.
I also previously criticized Marjorie's voice (again, that voice snob thing), but of the people I've heard on the radio thus far, I thought she's as good as anyone I've heard lately with a different perspective who would also be entertaining and knowledgable enough. I am sure there are others that I don't know about. I've asked the experts on this board to suggest who they would like to see, and only Varulven has the 'whatever it takes' to say he could take on Finneran. No one else was mentioned. I was disappointed - I thought people would have more ideas than that.

Given the election, I think you're right.

I'm leaving town for a bit and when I get back I assume I can catch all the radio buzz right here. Keep up the good work Finn. I hope you arent FINNeran as one poster suggested.
FINNeran - lololololol. I seriously don't think Finneran would mention death penalty and shoes in the same sentence.

Have a good trip.

There aren't many live shows on WTKK weekends. Stuttering Rick of the 'Worst Money Show on Radio' is not one of the better voices on local radio. Then again, how exciting can a money show possibly be?
