Jim Sharpe will leave the building...

Well, look what just bounced back up to the first page-o-threads...

It seems the Sharpemeister will definitely not be doing any radio fill-in
at least through next Tuesday, and maybe longer if things pan out, as
he is going for the open Phoenix City Council seat (along with 18 or so
others).

Apparently Mayor Philiberto and his buddies will pick the winnah next
Tuesday June 30 at 5/4 Central time.

Top priority item on Jim's platform: handguns for all radio PDs! ;D

Sounds like another Skip Rimza in the making. YIKES! Nurse Jeff and I'll call Philiberto and let him know this topic has been viewed over 15,000 times by almost 14 people now. Now that's power politics!

Now that you mention Mayor Skippy...

I wish you could load pics here, but since you can't, you'll just have
to Google for pics of Jim Sharpe and Skip Rimsza and compare them,
at which time you may well exclaim--"separated at birth?" ;)

I'm expecting to land a nice no-show job if Jim gets in. I'll teach him how we do it in
Massachusetts. Our politicians steal with both hands, even if they're being filmed. It's a skill worth learning.

Uh, that's a bit of an insult to Jim... I think.

However, speaking of "separation at birth", I wonder about that Jim Burgundy guy.

Perhaps equal-time rules don't apply here?

The Sharpemeister is on the air this morning, filling in for Network Ned.

I don't think KT'R wants to have to give equal time to the 18 other
city council appointee hopefuls by 2pm tomorrow! ;)

Unless the Old Gringo tells us we don't know our fezes from a gila monster's hole in the ground, equal time rules apply only when there is an election. Appointments don't count. Therefore let the lobbying begin!

Ron Burgandy for city council! The spirit of Skip Rimza lives! The gig pays $61k a year...that's right, 61k!! Rename Terminal 4 in honor of Dr Akbar 'n Nurse Jeff!

If Jim gets the gig... this just screams for a Radio-Info/Jim Sharpe celebration!

I know how fond you guys are of Bill Johnson's Big Apple. 19th Ave & Bell is in District 3, you know... ;)

Better luck next time, Sharpemeister!

It did seem kind of weird the way the nomination/voting process
occurred at the end. The council chose a computer geek instead,
some guy named Bill Gates. No, really.

If they did screw it up, perhaps a scathing expose on the KTR-FM
morning news tomorrow? ;)

Or run for the seat in the fall election.

Surprised no one mentioned this yet, but the Sharpemeister was
back in the KT'R building (at least) Tuesday and Wednesday,
filling in for Aunt Carlos. Not sure if he's on all week.

Jim's not as funny as the lamptimer, but he's a much better
talk show host--and at least you know when his on-air slot
begins and ends! :D

The Master Blogger has been doing Wheel of Hosts to cover Aunt Carlos' absence as well as other shifts suffering from vacationitis. Now that Jim isn't in the hunt for City Council, the Nurse and I think he should take on Sheriff Joe. If W. Steven Martin could do it, why not Sheriff Sharpemeister? Great pay, plenty of media coverage and an armoured tank!

Great.. a ride to work in a tank. Mr. Sharpe will leave the building when that Tucson pirate on 103.3 finally gets the hint that he needs to find a different city to play in... like Nogales. where his crap can be appreciated.

Nothing personal against Jim. ;)

The Sharpemeister is filling in for Dumb & Dumber today, 3-7, 3-7, 3-7,
on Snooze/Talk 92/3 KT'R-FM.

And I guess 55/FYI still allows the Lunatic on the air--as long as it's a
spot. Heard him voicing Ted's Hot Dogs (which are pretty good, BTW)
earlier today on that EEEEVIL talk station.

And the Sharpemeister is back on KT'R-FM again this morning.
No, not for Aunt Carlos--today he's filling in for Network Ned.

It was great to hear Jim this morning (7 September) doing Arizona's Morning News solo. Reminded me of the old days.

I'm sitting here in Massachusetts. It's 35 degrees and snowing like a son of a b*****. The Red Sox are done and the Yankees are ahead 2-0 in the ALCS. I need something to make me feel better, so I'm putting Jim back on the front page.
