Jim Sharpe will leave the building...

Jim, I wish you nothing but the best as you move out from under the thumb of corporate radio, into the clutches of corporate PR!! :D

And enjoy the bigger paycheck!!! ;D

Jim sure will be missed at the old Clear Channel Compound. I think this calls for a round of everyones favorite Jim Sharpe moments. Me personally...I thought his Ode To Joe Adams last year was one of the funniest things I have heard in years.

Best of luck to you Jim.

You are a pro and a pleasure to listen to.

Now, go make some of that long green coin.

Voicetracking...budget slashing...Minot...staffers eliminated
en masse (see El Lay massacre)...Lowry's bonus...

ZAP!

No, not "you're Morganized" (I know Hagerty will "get" that :D)
but rather...

Ahhhhh, the Cheap Channel albatross has been lifted!

But Jimbo, just think of some of the clients (noted in the
Biz Journal article) you'll now have to spin the news for:

Joke Arpaio
(Rule #1--obey all rules! Wait, that was Barney Fife.
Oh well, same thing. ;D)

Pink Taco
(Permanent sticky note--make sure the name "Mary Manross"
is not on this client's PR release list. Bad fallout. Bad!)

Kinder/Morgan
(Slogan: "Broken pipelines-r-us.")

Mitt Romney
(You got this account? Wow, I thought sure you'd be beat out
by the Master Blogger. ;))

I also note KFYI's Hannah Scott is now Hannah Scott of ... KTAR.

I'm sitting here LMAO how Hanna Scott (with the same picture) is on both KTAR.com and KFYI.com! I wonder if she's still updating her KFYI Road to Superbowl XXLII blog while she's reporting for KTAR!
:D ;D

Jim Sharpe is overated! He was best man at my wedding...a simple task...and he gave like a 20 minute toast and forgot my name.

:-* Thanks for all the kind words...except for Rubbernecker  ...at least I didn't reveal what happened at the bachelor party - like you did at mine...

Rubbernecker, that's what you get for having ALCOHOL at the wedding.

Jim, congratulations. You deserve anything good that comes your way

Besides I really had no idea how the goat ended up in the ice machine...

My greatest memory of Jim Sharp was when he came out to do a news story on our Clear Channel Kickball team. Jim did a great job with the story. Thanks Jim, we'll all miss ya. Best of luck!

One of my favorite Jim Sharp memories was when our station band played in the P.F Changs Rock and Roll Marathon. Seconds before we started to play we were told that there was to be no more than 5 seconds of "Empty Space" between songs. This was not good news for Jim and I since we would trade off singing and playing drums for different songs. I remember we just about killed ourselves trying to jump over my drum set back and forth to the microphone to start singing in "under 5 seconds!" It was some of the most nerve racking fun I've ever had. You're "Good People" Jim and I'm trilled for your success.

Congratulations ol' friend and good luck, ;D

This Jim memory goes back to our days at KCLS in Flagstaff and the oh so memorable Captain Crunch parties at Jim's chick magnet pad.

Hey Jim, what was it that we ingested that made us so hungry for Captain Crunch in the first place? My memory fails me... ;D

Hmmmmm.... ::) I have no idea what you're talking about, Mike!!! ;) I can't remember a good chunk of my twenties... :-[

You beat Phil Steiner to that one! :p

My first memory of Jim Sharpe was listening to his and Ted's morning show on KZON as I drove in to another station to work the board each day. It was a lousy time in my life and their show picked me up (especially at that unGodly hour). Later, I actually interviewed for a job at KZON. Jim (who was making the hiring decision) took me for a bite/interview at Durant's. I should have ordered the lobster, or something. 'Cuz I didn't get the job.

Good guy. Good for him.
