Chris Berman did a good homerun call last night.
He's on ESPN & doing NFL duties. How is it that HE is calling balls, strikes & home runs too (Especially when ESPN doesn't even have EITHER DS) ??? ??

Once again, you have me (And most likely countless others on here) scratching our heads ???

Cheers & 73 :D

ESPN Radio?

Berman is my least favorite pbp or anchor on ESPN or anywhere else. It seems to me he copies other people's lines (like Cosell's "he-coule-go-all-the-way!"), and his originals (like "WHOOOOOP!) are repeated way too often to be special. And from what is apparently spoken from behind the scenes, he seems a little full of himself. But, just my opinion.

My 2c on Berman doing PBP for ESPN Radio: He's awful.

I saw the replay of Nyger Morgan's winning hit on SC last night with Berman's audio and thought only one thing; thank goodness the Brewers got into the playoffs so I can stick with Uecker and Provus on the radio so far. Both the national calls on TBS (with the beer league announcers taking this NLDS who are usually watching AL games) and ESPN were horrible and had no energy at the most powerful moments of the series. Thankfully the TV side will be better next time as usual Brewers announcer Brian Anderson will call the NLCS (though I'm sure the national and St. Louis media are dreading it).
