Joe, I wish you the best, I really do. Just a suggestion though, you have 2 threads completely about you now on the front page, and one on the second page, which you talked about Kiss imaging, and that's about you too. How about just keeping to one, and posting updates to it? Again, best of luck in the search, it's tough out there.
 
Good restraint Joe! Now, if your stated desire is to remain in the Bangor market on air, wouldn't it be more productive to go and see Clear Channel, Cumulus, the Zone Corporation or Dan Priestly to see about jobs rather than posting on a message board? I'm sure you have, but let's have a dose of cold reality, after all it's below zero this morning, that method is going to advance your status alot further than posting on a message board I would imagine. Plus, if you keep posting how great Kiss sounds, how does that ingratiate you with the other groups? I'm not saying... I'm just saying

Joe I've been in the position, and believe it or not, have put in good words for you where I am. I'm just pointing out, that sometimes, less is more, when it comes to public pleas, and by networking with others, behind the scenes can be more fruitful. I think it "sucks" that your friend did that to you. By the way, didn't see you at Business after hours last night in Ellsworth!

ThreeFer, there's a translator in Bangor on 102.9 :'(,so I guess you'd have to listen to "your 102.9" on line. ThreeFer :-* 'BLM.
 
Don't count on getting any work in Bangor. Clear Channel is losing at TON of money every week and Cumulus is suffering more than most people are aware. Revenue in both corporations: WAY down from last year. The only Bangor radio group that is stable: Stephen King's.

Curb, I don't have any firsthand knowledge of your contentions, but it definitely makes sense. I'm sure that the Clear Channel and Cumulus staff are fine people, but from my vantage point, nobody in Bangor does local radio better than Stephen King's stations. Wonderful people, cool radio, and very involved with their community.

From my monitoring crow's nest here in Central Maine, I also hear some sincere local effort coming out of Lewiston with WEZR, Ellsworth or Winter Harbor or wherever with WNSX, and Calais with WQDY - when I travel up that way toward the border as I do every couple of weeks.

You just have to think that Maine businesses who are advertising like to write checks to other Maine businesses.

I don't think that Big Box Radio is evil. But it just isn't working in smaller markets like those in Maine. Or at least, it hasn't worked yet. If I worked for one of the big boys, I'd start cozying up to the local owner-operators to make sure I have a job in six months.
