I honestly think you are overcomplicating things. She did not want to have an unscripted conversation...period. This wasn't something specific to this particular podcast. This has been the standard operating procedure for her campaign all along. It really reinforced the perception (right or wrong) that people really didn't know who she was. Compound that with the failure to address (or actively marginalize) issues that were of primary concern to the electorate, along with an overemphasis of "identity politics", and that brings you to where we are today. The frustrating part is that all of these so called "experts" are coming out of the woodwork now to say where Kamala, her campaign, and the democrats got it wrong. Where was this "sage advice" before the election...when it could have actually been useful?

And I think part of that is because she inherited a lot of her staff from the Biden campaign, and they would never have sent him anywhere without a teleprompter and a big jar of Wite-Out. They started with a strategy, and did not change it much when the Big Swap happened.

A consideration from history: I don't recall Oprah having candidates for office on her show, or older television gabfests like Sally Jesse Raphael or Regis & Kathie Lee. Do I mis-remember?

I didn't see that much identity politics this time around.

35% independent/other, 33% Democrats, 32% Republicans.

So it isn't really accurate to say that Mr. Rogan's show appeals only to one party or another.

Rogan used to be a lot more moderate, even liberal on most social issues. In 2020 he endorsed Bernie Sanders. And now he agrees with the far left that Israel's war in Gaza is a genocide. So probably a lot of Democrats listen to him out of habit and familiarity, and for the few points of common ground they may have, even if they no longer agree with most of his political views.

The point wasn't so much about Mr. Rogan's views.

Earlier in this thread, some posters asserted that Rogan's audience was in the tank for the GOP like the show is Limbaugh noveaux, but the data suggests otherwise.
