Actually the first anchor team at KETK was John Gilbert (now at KCEN), Nancy Davis (who was a reporter from KLTV), Mark Rowlett and Jim Knox.

John was on both newscasts last night. I thought he did well. Despite other comments to the contrary, I kind of like his laid back style. Maybe he does just "rip & read" but when he was on 56, I remember seeing him come in wearing street cloths to help out (and go on the air) during bad storms. I've always respected that. His approach is more like "the guy next door who happens to know what the weather is doing," but that is fine by me. I'm glad he is back on the air in East Texas.
So where’s Doc? I hope he's just taking a vacation. He's always been nice to me when I've seen him and I think he has a good following.
