John Fricke

Now that Chris Myers' interview show has taken up air time that went to John Fricke, is he part of FSR any more or will he be relegated to fill-in when needed? I've been a huge fan of his since listening to him on San Diego radio. I really loved his tandem with Chris Landry during football season.

fricke will hopefully be integrated back into a "normal" weekend gig when football kicks back in late in the summer.

he's kind of a one trick pony. good on football but his bias against other big time sports is too thin to cover up for a regular gig.

his best trait is when he remembers to to get out of the way of chris landry. the two work well together.

p.s. chris landry should have a regular show like espn's football tonight.

I've said this before but Landry and Fricke should have a show together...they seem to work well together.

John Fricke is one of the best radio host like I never heard in my 34 years of life. I wish Hacksaw Hamilton was still on Fox Sports Radio. To me, him and John Fricke is very simular and both are very well spoken and most times both are very nice to their callers, especially Hacksaw Hamilton.

This past Sunday night (April, 4, 2010) Chris Moore was filling in for Sean Farnhan. Normally Chris is on early weekend morningsm and or fill in on holiday mornings (He was on this past Thanksgiving Day Morning) I also like his style.

I wish I can be the Assistant Program Director of Fox Sports Radio, For starters, I'd put John Frickie on Saturday and Sunday nights 10pm-1am Eastern Time, Saturday nights 6pm-10pm Eastern Time put on Hacksaw Hamilton and Kate Delaney, Sundays put 6pm-10pm Eastern put Sean Farnham and Poo Richardson. I have more ideas, but everyone always get mad at me and nobody ever listen to me
But that's what I would do

They DID co-host a show together, Saturday and Sunday mornings on FSR during the most recent football season. I would be surprised if FSR did not bring them back next season....but then again FSR never ceases to surprise over the years when it comes to personnel, and usually in a disappointing way.

I probably should have used different wording...Landry and Fricke work well together and I would like to hear more of them. I listened to them while working the night shift and it was "can't miss" radio...at least from a 40's something sports junkie....and then they were shifted to a day timeslot and I missed out...

FSR needs to put Fricke back on the weekends nights where he used to be especially during football. I loved the Football show with Fricke and Coach Landry on Saturday and Sunday nights, great football knowledge. I am sorry but put Fricke on instead of a Sean Farnham. They are really screwing things up on weekends.

Agreed. Fricke is very good at his craft. And Farnham is an arrogant, sanctimonious a-hole.

I agree with KJL, Fox Sports Radio messed things up big time on weekends. They need to put John Fricke back on weekends. Him and Poo Richardson was on this past Sunday night May 23, 3010, they did an excelent job.
I'm sorry but I don't like Bruce Jacobs much, I do listen to their show, but I'm not crazy over him. I wish they can put Hacksaw Hamilton on. As a matter of fact they should put on Hacksaw Hamilton and Kate Delaney weekend nights 6pm-10pm Eastern, and John Fricke and Poo Richardson 10pm-1am.
Weekends should be like this
1am-6am Big Ben Maller
6am-9am Race Day On Fox
9am-Noon Chris Moore
Noon-3pm Marioti (sorry for my bad spelling)
3pm-6pm Sean Farnham
6pm-10pm Hacksaw Hamilton and Kate Delaney
10pm-1am John Fricke and Poo Richardson
That's how Fox Sports Radio should be (All Times Eastern)
On weekdays, instead of having repeats, Noon-3pm Eastern put on John Fricke or Chris Moore, put live programming on
That's my idea

I hope you are aware that next to no stations would be able to carry such live programming at that time. From day one, that programming maneuver was made to accommodate Romey. It was intentional. The few stations that don't or can't carry Rome, BTW, either carry live, local programming or something like, say, SNR's Two Live Stews.

The remaining potential audience (whatever would exist) would be so minuscule that you would be better off setting a pile of dollar bills on fire.

All they need to do, IMO, is dump the God-awful Mike Lamb & whomever-he's-paired-up-with duet. Bo-o-o-o-o-o-ring. Why not stick Fricke & Landry there? Good grief, they had Jim Mora analyze baseball games with Dan Moriarty for YEARS!

True smart moves, like limiting Raceday only to Saturday mornings and Chris (Radio's equal to Valium) Myers to Sunday mornings, will be practically impossible to do. Although each SHOULD happen. Ditto with moving Ben Maller back to weeknight overnights. Chris Moore's style is best suited for weekend overnights.

Thank you for your good replys @Nathan, yes, that is true about weekdays, they do have Jim Rome.

I also agree with you regarding Chris Moore, anytime is good with me. I like his style as well. He'd be good for weekends, I agree with that as well

Well, maybe they will shake it up a bit since the NBA season FINALLY ended. I hope they don't keep talking about the Lakers a month after the Finals, you can only beat non-LA listeners down with Laker and NBA talk so much.

I'll be interested to see what kind of lineup FSR puts on during football season, I hope Fricke and Coach Landry are back on at least on the weekends hopefully after the games like they used to do instead of in the mornings before the games start like they had last season. :(

I kind of dread this time of year nothing worse than bad national sports talk radio in June and July unless there is some major, major story. I guess maybe they can ride the Lebron free agent wave for a little while.

Fricke is in for Jt for the rest of this week and all next week from 1A - 5 A Of course the 5-6 hour is just a replay of the 1st hour.

he's well worth it to listen to. I'm happy they put him on there for the next two weeks. I wish he was on Saturday and Sunday nights like he used to be. He used to be on 11pm-2am

So do I. I remember when he would do a morning/midday shift and then the night-time shift. I've always loved his perspective on college football.
