JULIE'S INJURIES WORSE THAN FIRST SUSPECTED

Metro wouldnt be found at fault.

True somewhat. But remember, Julie is a METRO employee. And if
it's determined that Metro sent their airborne people up to report in
aircraft with the full knowledge that the aircraft leasing company they are
using has shoddy maintenance practices (that could result in crashes and death),
Metro could be held liable as well. I believe this is crash/hard landing number 3
in DFW with the vendor that they use. It's not a pretty situation, and they know it.

I've never posted here before but I wanted to fill you in on Julie. The reason why things were kept private on the first day was because that is what her husband requested. He didn't want family and friends finding out that Julie had a broken neck on the radio or tv. Julie has been in ICU since Monday. She had surgery today at 1:30 and is expected to make a full recovery. I will be seeing her again Tomorrow and will pass along all your well wishes.

That makes sense. Thanks for the clarification. It's so hard to keep stuff like this under wraps when your life is so public like Julie's is. I hope she realizes how popular she is and how much she is loved.

Thanks again for posting, but be careful now that you've stepped foot in here. They can be nasty. (Just kidding!!!)

The chopper is owned by Heli Inc. This was the first incident involving that vendor. The maintenance is done by the same crew that works on the Zebra chopper (Traffic.con).

Leave my boy OfficeMax alone. Anyone who works for him can tell you that he is a good guy. No, he did not pay me to say that! ;)

Good point Shadow,BUT isn't this the same company(changed their name) that was responsible for the NYC/Hudson river crash that killed that TV reporter and a couple of years after that in Baltimore, where their plane crashed into an apt.complex? Including the KVIyellow copter a few years back here? If Metro had full knowledge, then yeah they are a party to a suit. If one is filed it will be settled out of court and the details will not be made available to the public.
As for "office max",sorry bub,he crossed the line calling Trafficpulse.

Exactly. Now you see the light.... ;)

"Good guys" don't tattle-tale.

The latest is Julie got the ok to return to work on Tuesday following Labor Day. Gene & Julie are working on a location, I believe at a local Starbucks, to do a live broadcast to celebrate. Hopefully they'll be able to announce the exact location tomorrow morning.

Truth be told, at least for the Big D radio faithful, if handled properly, that should be Gene & Julie's best show in several books. Hey, maybe more than their parents will be listening. Good times.

Congrats to Julie. Only the best, dear! ;)

Looking forward to hearing Julie again. I bet her Dad (Par) is glad she's doing better. (Get it, Par DeHardy? That's his real name!)

Glad to hear that Julie will be back to work next week. All the very best to a real sweetheart. My wife has been filling in at Metro and going up (in a Cessna)....thanks, guys for all the encouraging news about the maintainance of the choppers.....I'll be calling as soon as she gets off the air to make sure she's ok........Welcome back, Julie

Oh yes they DO!!! That attitude is exactly why we have a drug problem in the schools: kids don't turn in the scum who sell drugs. Get that attitude changed, and drugs would disappear overnight in schools, because you try to sell, you get turned in by outraged kids.

Looks like I need my cup of Joe... 80 miles outside of how I usually get to work ;)

Yeah, I don't think I can make it either. I live in Euless and work in Westlake! I wish they had done it in Grapevine or somewhere in the middle of town.

75 and Campbell, huh?

Fortunately, that's very, very close to where I live.

Unfortunately, it's 50 miles away from where I work. What time will they be there?

Well I will probably make an appearance to let Julie know that I really did care about her well being, and more so... to show support for all that do that job.. whether they sit in the choppers, airlplanes, mobile units or the studios... we depend upon them to get us to and from work, and we all know the joke.. they never talk about the back up I am sitting in at that moment!

JULIE! GOOD TO HEAR YOU'RE OK! and I will probably stop by on Tuesday!

Just a thought!

DavRadio,

Seriously, if you do make it, let her know our little forum has been buzzing about her. So glad she is doing well.

This has got to be THE MOST absurd thing I have ever read on this board.

Drugs have nothing to do with it. The root of the problem is parents not teaching their kids about drugs. Rather than find out what drugs will do from their parents, they get mistruths from peer pressure.

Thank you Robert.

The crux of the problem is parents that don't teach their children about
life in general (it's not just drugs). You can always trace a kids problems
back to the parents or guardians, and how THEIR life was.

But, we're getting WAAAY off the original point of Office Max
and folks like him. The way of the game here in the media world is to
be fierce in the fight or ratings game, but don't backstab your co-workers,
people you supervise or manage, and colleagues. It's childish, selfish,
unprofessional, and they lose a lot of respect. Unfortunately, the media
world is full of these kinds whose only purpose in life is to screw everybody
on their way to the top. One of the reasons I'm so glad to be out of media
and away from all the PLASTIC TWO FACED people that infest the
business like roaches on a sugar spill. There IS a way to compete
and manage on a day to day basis without being a jerk.
