July 1 cant get here quick enough

It was Leslie. They tried with when they first had Toucher and Wally. Jimmy was fine on the show but Leslie was like a mom. There was about two weeks where she was kind f off the show but that didn't last. Then teaming her up with Sean Demery brought them to their knees. no way could that work on a young leaning station. Jenners was the token young guy along with producer Mark. Oh yeah and they had Monte too but she saw the writing on the wall quickly.
 
they were still better then anything on the air then or today. cumlus couldve changed it up and not killed it.
99x was more then the music WHICH WAS GOOD BTW. if u listen to 99x it was kinda like u were part of something,i dont know how to explain it. but if u heard 99x was out somewhere u'd think to go there and check it out. not like if u see some other station at a car lot or bar or someplace, u might stop in if were already there but u wouldnt drive there on purpose. and if u see some1 u dont know with a 99x shirt on u respect them even tho u dont know them. it was different. [EDIT-profanity] it i dont know how to explain it.
 
The big question for July 1st will not be simly how Steve & Vicki do on the new station, but who else joins them over there. Star has had some high level defections and "retirments" lately.

I would be curious to see what other talent, salespeople, etc emerge at B98 as well after July 1st.
 
Is Cox going to pay the rate it takes to get high level former Star 94 performers? And for that matter are even S&V getting the same money they were getting at Star or did they take a dive?
 
Why would Cox necessarily want former or existing Star 94 employees? It's not like you need someone with S&V history to sell, program or manage B98. Cox has achieved a dominating position in Atlanta with their current staff. Note that Wendy Threat brings solid talent with depth of experience beyond on-air; Cox upgraded with that hire for sure. Street buzz says no on Rob Stadler. What staff positions would Cox need filled or upgraded to strengthen a near unchallenged slam dunk debut (read: why spend the money) for S&V?
 
Steve and Vicki will suprise everyone with how strong they come back. They are like Coca-Cola- they didn't know they cared so much about it until they changed the formula. Then everyone demanded their Classic Coke back.
 
B98.5 did fine with the soccer mom generic approach of Kelly and Alpha .

Steve and Vicki will do the same without much effort. They are pros at what they do.
B98.5's numbers will be about the same maybe a little higher initially.

But still it won't be the water cooler talk that The Bert Show generates on a daily basis.
