July was not a good month for Atlanta's 2 country stations. Aside from that, not many surprises. Journey showed up as did 99X. Tight battle among B98.5, Q100 and Star 94. Slight drought at The River.

Bob was/is a research junkie, and never made a move without consulting research which showed what the audience actually wanted.
It'll be interesting to see how things will work out. My bet is with the Bob Neil approach, because it worked, from both a ratings and revenue perspective. "Experimenting" with multi-million dollar properties, making playlists deeper, opening things up...I'm not a believer. I've always thought that radio is like fast food: no one ever goes into McDonald's and wonders where the "variety on the menu" is. They just order and pay for the same stuff, over and over.
Even satellite radio consumers tend to narrow their choices quickly, consuming no more than 3 stations regularly. And they have hundreds from which to choose.

Sounds much like today's radio based on "research."
And those kids are pushing buttons wanting to hear Star, Q, Wild, and maybe Project.secondchoice said:taylorengineer said:Most people 25-54 don't eat at MickeyD's because:

I agree: but if you have kids, MickeyD's is the bomb! Great toys and most have a "playland". IMHO breakfast is the best food they serve. They are targeting the under 25's quite well. Just ask "The King" who is now unemployed!
