June Nielsen numbers are here

June numbers: Houston/Galveston

Mid nines for Sunny.

Eagle almost to the sevens.

Mega continues its surge.

La Ley bounces back a bit.

MediaCo stations seem to be languishing. Reported layoffs cause?

Don’t think I’ve seen Pride Radio register before.

The Beat is beating more faintly. It and The Box have both lost combined share recently.

The biggest story is KLTN just doing so horrible. The downfall of that station needs to be studied. And it's not like we can blame it on the helicopter accident since they were doing bad before the crash.

Also my condolences to those who keep hoping for Mega 101's demise. The station is now only 12 years away from matching Rock 101's 34 years of existence. With the way trends are going, I think Mega will eventually have a much larger legacy than Rock 101 had.

I don’t think anyone was hoping for the demise of Mega, but just noting it had been in a swoon at a time when Audacy has been moving sportstalkers to FM. We can likely forget about that here for now with its recent rebound.

However if The Beat continues to sink, would iHeart start thinking of an FM home for SportsTalk 790 and its Astros and Rockets content?

Audacy has been quite content with their strategically placed spanish language stations in Houston and Dallas. Many of you have just failed to see the bigger picture.

If anything iHeart could flip to a format like Mix 96.1 over in San Antonio. But they couldn't name it Mix or Magic. Maybe they can revive the K Lite name and call letters, play AC gold like Mix 96.1 does with the Spanish language voiceovers and commercials.

Given Houston's demographics, such a station would be a great candidate for that particular format.

Musica Favoritas, K Lite 93.7 KLTR.

You are definitely right on that one. It’s not just that helicopter accident that cause its ratings to go downhill, but the bigger and main reason for all of this would be TU letting go of Raul Brindis, which is by far the biggest mistake that TU has ever made. If it wasn’t for them making a not-so-smart decision, then KLTN would stay on the Top 10 as of right now and La Ley wouldn’t even be in existence and instead go for another format.

Speaking of which, since we’re all talking about the station going downhill, how about we start a discussion about KLTN potentially simulcasting 93.3 since we have talked about KLOL to switch to a Sports Radio 610 simulcast because of its ratings, but it’s different because 93.3 might need a little boost in coverage due to its transmitter in Devers having a weak signal which is one of the main causes of its low audiences.

I have wished that all the time Estereo Latino to be back on 102.9 but everyone even AI 😂 disagrees with me. TU loves the QUE BUENA brand and won't flip it to Estereo Latino. I have told many persons ESTEREO LATINO is back and most of them always tell me the same thing. What do you mean it's back? It's always been on 102.9.

Meaning most of the persons I have asked dont even realize the ame change

Isn't that what Retro is doing on 99.1 HD3?

I would love Iheart to buy KRBE and call it WILD 104 KRBE and keep the morning show and play some Karol G and Bad bunny- not full flip to spanish but add some spanish hits
