JVC Broadcasting welcome to S Jersey

Ok, I now know whats happening at the New Atlantic Broadcasting (i have too much time at work). JVC is the company out of Long Island thats consulting the new group. John C and Vic are the puppet masters and Atlantic Broadcasting group are the puppets. Ive been consulting radio statons and launching them since 2000. It doesnt give me a whole lot of experience but just follow. JVC Broadcasting runs 2 stations in Long Island. The Party and La Fiesta. Neither station is performing well. I invite you to check the ratings. They somehow convinced the new group to buy into their plans to fix the problem. John C is the head guy and the club DJ Vic (something) is his consultant. Since their master plan (4 months ago) the stations have lost ridiculous amount of money with local advertisers spending money elsewhere and the plans for the format change doesnt look like it will generate any extra cash flow. Lookout unemployment the new group is sending more people your way !!! I saw the comment that read "JVC Envy" No thanks. I will give JVC credit they mananged to take a group of investors and get them to lose millions. Thats tough to do.

Thats Just What I Heard

Must be some hate if you keep ranting about John & Vic heading to South Jersey. And BTW, those two LI stations are billing well FYI. Party & La Fiesta are marketing for their local market (Riverhead-Hamptons)) and are not really considered a player for the Nassau-Suffolk books. And why would JVC tell their competition (Equity) when and where they are bringing a "CHR" or "Tropical" or whatever format on a certain date and certain frequency? I think this would be a good shake up for Atlantic. If you have anyone to point fingers to and ask why this is happening, contact your former GM, who, "from what I heard" has done some bad decisions for the company.

I would love it if they brought Party to 102.7 in AC, it would be a great fit for the Atlantic City area similar to Vibe 94.5 in Vegas. It would be a real change from all the cookie cutter CHRs.

Obviously the format is working well if it's been on for over a decade.

Does Vic DJ at the clubs yes, but a lot of PD's past present and future do the same. Vic is has a lot of experience and in my opinion does a great job. Atlantic City has a ton of nightlife and a station like this can fit the vibe down there. Lets see what he can do.

Nick, you're crazy, CHR is the last thing this market needs. DJ21ofNJ, What are these "Bad Decisions" the former Atlantic Broadcasting made and do you think JVC are making good decisions(you know like a bunch more lay-offs)? MarcB, hahahahahaha!

Do you think Brett was a great business model?

JVC is already in Atlantic City, 1490 is a simulcast of La Fiesta. Coincidentally, 1490 can also be heard in much of Long Island due to the salt water path.

Well DJ21ofNJ I don't really think anyone could have made money in those couple years. Those guys bought those stations 2 months after the economy fell apart(I'm not saying they were perfect or didn't make some mistakes). Many people are making claims they are criminals when really they were hard working people who sank their lives into Atlantic Broadcasting only to be swept a side like garbage. I understand that JVC is just doing what they think they have to do to not only control the company(every take over means layoffs) and make some money again. Nick, I'm just saying a another CHR station in this market on a tiny stick isn't going to make a dollar. Wouldn't La Fiesta on 102.7 be a better(and cheaper)idea? Then they could sell that useless 1490 and make a few bucks back. I'm no radio expert but I think my logic is sound.

Should we make any assumptions: new poster Tubbs and there's a fairly new Don Johnson (Crocket)?

Regardless, I think if you are caught frauding Arbitron, you probably deserve to be called criminals. Just a thought.

Well "Who Cares" I read that letter from Arbitron and it said nothing about fraud(yep used to work there). You are of course ASSUMING that they committed fraud. You are talking about the rumor that Brett DeNafo and Al Camaione(2 of the Atlantic Broadcasting partners)had family members with Arbitron books. Do you know something we all don't? Did you see those books? Do you work for Arbitron? Just a thought!

ps Don Johnson, kudos on naming yourself after one of the 80's greatest actors!

I mentioned before, when it was relevant news, that I had a very credible source that linked the parties to the fraud via irrefutable evidence. However, as lame as this may be, I will not divulge the info because it will either help others try to do the same thing, or teach those who would, or did, how to avoid that challenge the next time.

Wouldn't it cost the same to simulcast Party on 102.7 as it would to simulcast La Fiesta?
As long as 1490 is making money they will keep it.

Maybe this is part of the "Big Picture" of JVC that Tony was talking about back when Party was on 87.7.

It was fraud. He is a crook. To further qualify the level of fraud, he conspired to sell this to unsuspecting clients while representing the fiduciary responsibility of that company. There are statutes regarding these acts. Thus multiple counts. Conspiracy to defraud is a serious crime, the last time I checked. And with each contract sent by wire, it is wire fraud, each on a separate count. It is fraud. He is a crook. Incompetence, ignorance or derelict of duty is no excuse in the eyes of the law.

When you assume...you make an ass out of you and me. Clearly, you've made an ass out of youself before on this board with inaccurate reportings (morning teams moving...diaries being sent to families that they weren't) so maybe you should stick to what you do best, phone burners for 3 hours a morning.

Regards of what is said and rumors out there, point is, the GM is fired. Obviously, if this guy didnt do anything wrong, then he would still be with the company, don't you think?

SAM

YOU ARE MAKING SOME STRONG ALLEGATIONS AGAINST BRETT. If these allegations are true why hasnt Brett been prosected yet and sent to jail???????????????? ive asked you this question before and have gotten no answer ???

Everyone can allegedly say whatever they want - but those that saw the email from Arbitron know the real deal.

PS there is also the matter of a lawsuit, related to another business of his, and more alleged fraud and misrepresentation.

Where there's smoke, there's usually fire. Allegedly, of course.
