JVC Broadcasting welcome to S Jersey

It seems talk of JSE flipping has hit the streets and of course most of the staff will be losing their jobs (not so funny!). Samlit, you can DJ CHR, right? That must be better than an internet radio show(now that's funny!).

I don't know this directly but from what I understand unusually large quantity's of Eskimo Pie's & Fudgy Wudgies have been mysteriously disappearing off the shelves in the area immediately adjacent to the Ventnor Beach area.

Ho hum ... not even slightly funny.

yeah I don't anticipate seeing Sam on Comedy Central any time soon! Hell even Wanda Sykes is funnier and believe me that's a hell of a stretch... Yawwwwwwn!

Stick to Internet radio Sam... It suits you much better!

Hey, I was just a sayin's what I done did heard. Dig?

Even just a casual statistical measurements analysis indicate that Hy Lit Radio Technologies cumes more hits across our audio platforms that the total listening audience of the entire Atlantic radio group combined. Of coarse my numbers are actual and theirs are estimates.

And with our average time spent listening exceeding 3 hours 18 minutes completely eclipsing Atlantic TSL I venture to say that there is probably very little that is attractive to those sticks at the Jersey shore, particularly first and foremost when when it comes to debt service. But then again their TSL and excessive debt is squarely at the root of their problem. (get it, square root?). However terrestrial radio's TSL continues to erode continuous so there is only relatively so much that can be done with regard to your basic limited regurgitated homogenized repetitive burned out playlists that are top heavy with excessive stops sets. This is to say nothing about the looming aggregate debt load factor.

Hey, but don't ask me, just look around.

SamLit, you are correct, repetitive burned out playlists that are top heavy with excessive stops sets are definitly killing radio. I may not agree with you on Atlantic Broadcasting's original partners but you really nailed the problem with radio everywhere.

ps square root...hahaahahahahaha.

Its not burned out playlists. In the 80's you had stations going with the Hot Hits rotation, which was a very tight playlist. I do agree with stop sets but more importantly its not allowing a DJ to be a DJ. We need more personalities that can interact with the audience.

I soooo agree with you on this. DJ's used to be the thing, and the music was the glue that held it together. Over the last 15 years or so, possibly due to fears of the iPod, syndication and satellite radio, there seems to have been a collective homogenization of sorts by making all DJ's into liner jocks.

I would like to hear my DJ's actually say something more than what event is coming up this weekend before they go into a 5 minute spot break. And, I'd like to hear my DJ's actually speak more than 4 times an hour.

I grew up with Glen Kalina, Terry the Motor Mouth, John DeBella and the Morning Zoo, two out of three of them I haven't heard in over 20 years, yet still remember clearly. I also remember a few of the Hot Hits rotation songs that Glen and Terry played, probably because they played them once every hour. Regardless, people identify with DJ's. They identify with songs, too, but not the way they do with their home town DJ's.

Ok, off my soapbox, but when I turn on my radio, that's what I'd like to hear.

will 102.7 flip july 4th weekend ?

Here's a sure bet official report. Look for an Atlantic creditor protection filing before the Eskimo Pie season ends. DingDingDingDingDing!! I think I just heard another official report that someone from Atlantic Broadcasting will be flying a kite on July 4th. Or was that someone that used to be from Atlantic will be flying a kite on July 4th. Oh well, split the difference. If they're from now they'll used to be from, when the go fly a kite creditor protection format of the month club kick in.

No official report of any of the Atlantic stations flipping, and I mean OFFICIAL REPORT.
There were many format flips that happened with no official report.

Just to give an example, Pulse 87 went off the air with no on air warning to the listeners until 5 hours before, and we would not have even known it would be going off if we hadn't been informed of its finances. PartyFM went off 87.7 with no warning, except a speculative post the night before on this board. G-Rock went off the air with no warning at all.

If you're in South Jersey, roll tape on 102.7 and 103.7 this weekend.

As soon as the radiothon was announced, we knew Pulse was going to expire at any moment, and that happened 3 months before Pulse was off the air. Then there was October 15th, where Mega Media couldn't find an 11th hour deal, and failed to pay the lease with Island broadcasting, so the writing was on the wall for Pulse.

PartyFM was not getting the props for filling the hole of dance music (comparing them to Pulse). Yes, I understood the repetition of some tracks where you can hear them also on 92.3, 94.3, 96.3, 100.3, 103.5, and 106.3, but do you think as a programmer, would you tell your audience that you yanked out of 87.7 because of the hate the core dance fans was giving Party?

As far as G-Rock, well...I'll leave that to SoulCrusher lol.

Both are going NOWHERE....how can you leave a large population with only one rocker and a classic rocker.. no way, if one would go away it would surface on another frequency...To put yet another Hispanic or Urbanic format in the area would be insane....how can one ethnic be catered to so much...blame it on the DEMS....

The Shark ain't goin' nowhere. JSE's the one rumored to flip. The Shark has supposedly re-signed The Bob and Tom Show.

The Bob and Tom Show has been off of WMGM for several months. Are they bringing it back?

G-rock did exactly that. Ditched alternative rock for CHR.
