I can see WMYX easily skewing a little older to take up the space of anyone else trying ACThat’s a very good question. There was only one adult contemporary station that I know of in Milwaukee - huge loss.

They can also flip to Christmas music near the Holiday season, doing something they haven't done in 14 years. My one concern is WRIT since they're usually the winners against WMYX if we look at the past. WRIT did skip the Christmas music last year.I can see WMYX easily skewing a little older to take up the space of anyone else trying AC
A radio company doesn’t make this kind of move unless they’re looking to get out of the business. This is bad tidings for the industry as a whole as well as for Milwaukee. What a sad day.
Could that also be the reason why local businesses can't find any local buyers to purchase their stations? It's also another nail in the coffin of local radio. For a long time I've read comments from people wishing the big radio owners would be forced to sell to small local owners. Instead what's happening is that small local owners are selling to K-Love.
K-Love has abided by ownership caps. In fact, many of their purchases have been a consequence of private companies having to do the same. This is a clarion call to bring back ownership caps.

Out of curiosity, which signal covers the market better, 98.3 or 106.9?That is a possibility. WMYX and their sister station, WXSS (KISS FM) are very close in sound. The Mix is almost an adult CHR. They could probably do well moving toward a B93.3 sound.
Audacy could also save alt. rock in the market. Their 105.7 translator isn't doing much for their piddly AM sports station.
And yes, Saga could flip 106.9. Granted, they finally found a successful niche with oldies, but they could probably make more money with AC. The signal isn't as strong, but it covers almost all the market. They also have a translator (98.7) that simulcasts the brokered religious format of their AM station. It won't work for AC, but maybe oldies or alt. rock.
On a side note, it seems like Saga does the best radio in the market. At least they're committed to live and local programming. WKLH, The Hog and WJMR are pretty decent stations with a strong local presence.

I'm guessing 98.3. 106.9 appears to have a deep null south of Milwaukee, presumably to protect 106.7 in Des Plaines, IL. Wouldn't surprise me if WOOD-FM also intrudes on WRXS outside of its city grade contour during tropo episodes.
I'm in Kenosha and I don't get either of them.Out of curiosity, which signal covers the market better, 98.3 or 106.9?

Wow. So everyone will go to 102.9 the hog?
Wonder if Froggy Country 100.3 and 107.3 will end up on 1290 WZTI to support the translators if they ever get the AM back on the air?
I could really see k love trading one of these new signals to get into another market and using 105.3 for air 1. I expect the plan for k love will be 93.3 due to similar target audiences
Yep just ask the people in New York at 95.5 PLJ oh that is right ya can't there a k-love station now😢😢😢The "industry as a whole" has been selling some extremely powerful signals to K-love for years.
