Karen Blake - The Madam!

Been listening to her show and she is being squelched by WODS playing the most music in the morning! The woman needs to shine with her natural talents. She has a lot to say! :)

I love Karen's show but liked it even more when it was less music and more personality driven with both Zito and Karen. Karen is extremely talented! You're right. They need to let her shine!

Couldn't agree more about Karen. She's a jewel. I get so frustrated just trying to "catch" her in the morning. Whenever I am lucky enough to hear her, it's always a treat.

I thought you were going to tell me that she was hiring women to turn tricks.
I drew a similar inference. Poor choice of words in the topic title.

Well, perhaps you have forgotten that her nick name used to be the madam! Yeah, I know nothing about radio. ::)

I have always found Karen to be very funny. I like hearing her wit in the morning. I agree with czito I don't hear her enough. There are times I switch stations because she plays too much music and I might not be crazy about a particular song that's on. I also remember her being "The Madam" I used to listen to her on WZOU. She's very entertaining!

No, it's isn't a poor choice in wording. This is a Boston board, and the people who read it should have the knowledge that she has been here a long time and has a nickname.

As an afficionado of Boston radio, I must assume that you're familiar with the Larry Glick salute. Consider yourself the recipient of one.

"The red light is on and the MADAM is in"!

Now that's bringing back some memories!!

Speaking of female Boston on-air talent, what happened to Diana "Lady D" Steele? I believe she was on Kiss during the same era as Karen was on 'ZOU. Last I remember hearing Lady D was on WBMX back when it was on 98.5.

Wasn't Lady D on ZOU before Kiss?

I do not believe so.

Well, I never listened to Larry, so although I don't exactly know what his salute was, from the tone of some of your "I have my opinions and if you disagree, you stink" posts, I think I can guess what the salute was..

And no, I am not an afficianado....I've just heard more than 5 minutes of Boston radio in my lifetime, so I'm aware of Mizzz Blake's nickname.
