1, The Herald is not known for it's accuracy in reporting ANYTHING, so because they say that this is where the Katrina victim's got their money isnt exactly a dfeinate for my money. If I were ina strip club and someone told me that they were a Katrina survivor I would gladly by them a round, buy them their entire evening's worth of drinks and lap dances to go with, and they woudl still be seen in the club doing whatever and they would not have been spending tax payers money, they would be spending mine. Im sure that was part of the equation but most likely the majority of the money they are spending is relief money.
2. It's not really for us or Mitt or GWb or anyone to say what they SHOULD spend their dole on, they get it and that si the end of the story. A little drinking for the purpouse of stress relief given what most survivors have been through doesnt sounds so outrageous to me.
3' THIS IS THE HERALD PEOPLE, they are atabloid, they are essentially a rag, everyone's guilty pleasure. The paper that many read but few readily admit to reading and trust me they (the Herald Staffers) know this, they know that they are not credible in the minds of most in the news game, they also know that they are essentially a tabloid. They also know that sensationalism is their calling card so they are going to look for the most unseemly and seedy angle to any story, that is just who the Herald is.
4. Jamn's hosts expressed their opinions and I would agree with the it is nobody's biz what they spend the money on argument. You go through an experience like that and you're bound to have post traumatic stress disorder, so go out and blow off some steam on someone else's dime. They should buy clothes someone said? and keep them where? if theya re without shelter and are living in temp shlter/ whatever, this is something that is really not anyone else's concern. The herald is not a moral compass, theyre barely a newspaper, they're not there to report news they exist to SELL PAPERS and that's bottom line. Sensational stories that get their working class readership all up in arms are whhat sell papers, get people to call into Howie CAHH and bitch, etc.
