94.5 morning show , talk about The Boston Herald front page about Katrina evacuees Boozing it up and going to strip clubs . 94.5 Morning show said who care , what they ( Katrina Evacuees ) been through , let them booze it up and go to strip joints . I think the Herald should be a shame of themselves , for puttin this junk on there front page ( or any page ) . Last time i check , going to a strip club and buying booze are not against the law . Boston Herald said that you,re paying for Katrina evacuees to booze and go to the strip club . I say , so what ! are they braking the law ( OK public drinking , Wow ! no one in MA does that ) . These people loss there home's , Loss there Jobs and loss sum friends and loss sum Family members and the our great government let these people down . Lets be real , If someone gave me money and said do whatever you want with the money , I will take care of me and my family and whatever money left over , I will entertain myself ( Beer , Nightclub , Foxwoods ) . Do the Boston Herald think that only Katrina Evacuees are spending government money on Booze and Strip Clubs and Walfare and Social Security people are not spending government money on that ? Boston Herald need to stop making the public think that all of the Katrina Evacuees are boozing it up and going to strip Clubs . For the first time , Im not bashing Jamn 94.5 . I an on 94.5 side , on this subject .
______________

It's also clear now why the Governor brought them here in the first place. Look at all this money that is now being reinvested into the local economy. What a genius. :)

Trying to think of the last time I saw relevant news on the front page of the herald...

...Lets see, they spent last week trying to stop people from volunteering their time to entertain prison inmates...

Shrug

Was any of that english?

Personally, I do care what the victims are doing with my money. I don't think they should be spending it on strippers and booze. They should be buying clothes, and food with that money, and trying to get their lives back in order. I agree what they went through was horrible, and they deserve to have some fun, but that doesn't mean they should be spending my money at places like that. Go to a movie, play some golf, go to a bruins game, there's plenty of other things they could be doing with my money.

With that being said, I don't think its front page worthy, but I don't work for the Herald, so it's not my call.

Just my .02

"loss sum Family"?

English...do..you..speak..it?

Unreal.

Our tax money is going to help these people who lost their homes rebuild
their lives. They're spending it on booze and strip joints.

Let me give you an example: Your house burned down. You lost everything. Your neighbors take up a collection to help you out and you spend the money
on booze and strip clubs.

Well, maybe Dylan was right when he said "When you ain't got nothin',
you got nothin' to lose" but when you have a situation where our government
gives money to needy people and they waste it like this...

let them booze it up and
> go to strip joints .

Right, we lost everything so let's just drink ourselves to death, even
though people do want to help us.

Exactly...and some businesses like Home Depot and WalMart were giving
them gift certificates. It might only be $50 or so per family but that's
better than nothing. But no, let's just get some MadDog 2020 and get a lap
dance with that money. Clothes, food, who needs it?

>>go to a bruins game,

I think some of them were taken to a Red Sox game acc. to the article.
So we helped them have some fun.

Yes it sells papers by putting it on the front page...but the article
was necessary.
______________

1, The Herald is not known for it's accuracy in reporting ANYTHING, so because they say that this is where the Katrina victim's got their money isnt exactly a dfeinate for my money. If I were ina strip club and someone told me that they were a Katrina survivor I would gladly by them a round, buy them their entire evening's worth of drinks and lap dances to go with, and they woudl still be seen in the club doing whatever and they would not have been spending tax payers money, they would be spending mine. Im sure that was part of the equation but most likely the majority of the money they are spending is relief money.

2. It's not really for us or Mitt or GWb or anyone to say what they SHOULD spend their dole on, they get it and that si the end of the story. A little drinking for the purpouse of stress relief given what most survivors have been through doesnt sounds so outrageous to me.

3' THIS IS THE HERALD PEOPLE, they are atabloid, they are essentially a rag, everyone's guilty pleasure. The paper that many read but few readily admit to reading and trust me they (the Herald Staffers) know this, they know that they are not credible in the minds of most in the news game, they also know that they are essentially a tabloid. They also know that sensationalism is their calling card so they are going to look for the most unseemly and seedy angle to any story, that is just who the Herald is.

4. Jamn's hosts expressed their opinions and I would agree with the it is nobody's biz what they spend the money on argument. You go through an experience like that and you're bound to have post traumatic stress disorder, so go out and blow off some steam on someone else's dime. They should buy clothes someone said? and keep them where? if theya re without shelter and are living in temp shlter/ whatever, this is something that is really not anyone else's concern. The herald is not a moral compass, theyre barely a newspaper, they're not there to report news they exist to SELL PAPERS and that's bottom line. Sensational stories that get their working class readership all up in arms are whhat sell papers, get people to call into Howie CAHH and bitch, etc.
