Agreed. Its going to be a fast riser, stay at the top for maybe 2 weeks and then plummet down equally as fast. Its the fifth single off the album, though, so thats not too suprising. Plus, it has a very summer feeling to it- so I don't think it will be a recurrent that hangs around the chart for long.
 
I agree with others on this site that comparing chart data from different eras (such as the '80s vs. now) is something of an "apples to oranges" comparison, because of changes to the way that the chart data is compiled. However, I believe that records were meant to be broken. So I say, more power to Katy Perry! I hope she ties, and then goes on to break, Michael Jackson's record. I'm sure that Michael himself would say the same thing, were he still here.
