103.5 BOB-FM has blown the ceiling wide open and is now enjoying their best ratings ever with an 11.5. The next highest rated commercial station is KKMJ with a 5.6. Yes, this is one of the best sounding Adult Hits stations in the nation. Slick imaging, good air talent(yes air-talent on an Adult Hits station, what an idea) and broad, not too wimpy music selection. They also have a signal that can penetrate several brick walls. I'm not a big fan of the format, but I can't help but be impressed.
Is the rest of the pack really that bad, or are they really that good? How long before they have a viable competitor? I don't see any bottom feeders that might be interested in flipping to Classic hits, or the like, and I can't believe that there are not more class C signals in this sprawling market.
Don't even mention "105.3 The Bat" as a competitor. The key word was VIABLE. A 75-watt translator is not going to put a dent in KBPA. They're just running away with it, and the others are just letting them.
Why isn't anyone talking about this?
