KBPK-FM Buena Park

From what I see, Fullerton College had a staffer who was KBPK program director. The college still offers radio among its degrees. I imagine they were offered the opportunity to buy or take over the license, and they declined. Some colleges that sell their broadcast station continue the programming in an online capacity. That way they save money on the transmitter, but they have to pay additional fees for the music.
I wonder how much it actually costs to operate and maintain a 20 Watt FM station? I know that I could fit the transmitter, antenna, mod monitor, the board, and computer in my bedroom closet! (needless to say to operate the facility the antenna would have to be placed elsewhere). Way back in ancient times I think you could actually buy a 10 or 20 W FM unit from Edmond Scientific Company for cheap.

From what we've heard so far, Fullerton College had no knowledge of this! We are checking into what happened.
