Very interesting. Presumably LIN will be taking the MyNet programming off of KNVA and moving it to KBVO in the near future. Sounds like a plan to add another "must carry" station to the Austin market.

LIN just rolled out MyTV on a digital subchannel on its Providence Fox station. MyTV used to run on a delay after Fox programming. Article in Broadcasting & Cable says they may do something similar in other markets, singling out Austin. So ... all the speculation here may be right on target.

Between KNVA and KXAN, there's already a lot of decent syndie programming that can go to KBVO, much of it relegated to the overnight hours, plus there are several shows that don't air in Austin at all because of the relative dearth of stations here.

That's possible. It's also possible that they will repurpose KBVO-CA (51.1) as the repeater for KBVO 14 in the Austin metro area. It's currently listed as a repeater for KNVA, which is pretty useless since KNVA and KBVO-CA are both transmitting from the same location.

This just suggests to me that KBVO-CA is redundant and adds no value in its current format, and than LIN keeps it around to repurpose it at some point in the future. Cutting it over to be a low power repeater for the full power Llano signal to better cover the Austin metro area seems like an obvious course of action.

So ... speaking of shows KXAN/KNVA seems to have in layaway for KBVO, if you go to the Judge Mathis Web site (http://judgemathistv.warnerbros.com/about/whenitson.html) it shows KXAN's current airtime of 3 a.m., plus a 9 a.m. airtime on ... KBVO. Other overnight shows that I'd say are likely to move to better slots on KBVO ...

I believe KXAN added PAD a year or two ago, they don't air the rest of the NBC overnight lineup which includes the repeats of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and repeats of Dateline NBC and Meet The Press on weekends including In Wine Country and weekend edition of Poker After Dark.

does anybody know what cable channel they going to be on austin time warner ? i read somewhere it is to be on 1525 or so. i have to come back home to see what cable channel it is on. how about the low power ch. 51 it is also mytv also.

Has anyone found a sked for KBVO? They don't even have one posted on the KXAN or KNVA websites ... and the KBVO site isn't up yet. One thing I did notice ... they teased to an episode of The Office in its usual slot at 9:30 p.m. after the the 9 p.m. news on KNVA, but Raymond aired instead. So apparently the second run of The Office has moved somewhere else. My guess is 10 p.m. We'll find out if I'm right in about 15 minutes ...

The folks at the front desk at KXAN told me this afternoon that DirecTV should have it up beginning Wednesday, but that they did have some technical issues going on.

Maybe you think we can convince them to run color weather radar occasionally? <grin>

Still no evidence of a sked anywhere ... even on Time Warner's digital cable display. Just from some random flipping last night, I know Law & Order SVU airs at 9 p.m., followed by Comics Unleashed at 10 and Reno 911 at 10:30. This morning, they appeared to be running an infomercial at 8 a.m., followed by Judge Mathis at 9 and Street Court at 10.

Caught a promo that shows they'll also be airing George Lopez, Bernie Mac, Deal or No Deal, My Name is Earl, America's Funniest Videos and Jerry Springer.

I've found KBVO's schedule on TitanTV.com (http://www.titantv.com/). You probably will need to localize the guide in order to see it. Be sure to have the channel lineup view set to 'broadcast stations'.

Seems they haven't yet powered up their website (myaustintv.com and kbvotv.com). I think the affiliation switch makes sense, IMHO.

As of Thursday morning, my Directv now has 51 but the guide information duplicates 54.
The Austin LPTV on 51 is still duplicating 54.

PS-- How does the Hill Country feel about losing their NBC in favor of this?

I live in Llano -- haven't heard anything yet from the locals, most of whom are using satellite (cable here is a joke -- all analog, very few channels, very expensive). It's a non-issue for me personally because I have big outdoor hardware that pulls in the stations on the Austin tower farm loud and clear. But folks using small indoor antennas up here may not be happy about losing major network programming.
