KCBC/KKOB 770 AM

Heard it one time in Cincinnati in 1965...old tube type Zenith console radio with a 130' longwire. It was maybe an hour before sunset at KOB and WABC was off air briefly because of the legendary Northeast blackout. Unlike millions of people in the NE, my 12 year old ears were mighty happy (even though I was a regular WABC listener). Got a QSL card for that one. KSL was a regular on that setup back in the days when they owned 1160 after Chicago shut down at sunset in Salt Lake City...those were the days my friend...

I remember that day vividly in November of 65. I also was listening to the WABC carrier from the Chicago area. Didn't get KOB that day but did get it a couple of times. I believe they were an NBC news affiliate back then.
